I have similar corners to that on one of my hammock tarps, but they're designed to tuck the lines into when packing up. very useful.
@livingsurvival9 жыл бұрын
FlashGeiger I generally untie each time because I carry cordage in my pack and always have to use different lengths but certainly useful for that. Thanks for the tip.

About one third bigger. The Aussie one is fitted with click studs on both sides so two digs can share a shelter or they can be be used for a field CP cover.

Nice job with the outtakes a king camo carp? How do they taste lol. Looks like a solid build though I liked your setup. Thanks for the review, what's the price? Oh I had to laugh at the title "waterproof" tarp seems like an oxymoron it's like saying waterproof umbrella or transportable car hehe
@livingsurvival9 жыл бұрын
LOL..well some tarps are not so much. $100 on sale right now from $175.

Living Survival Nice review. That's a steep price but folks need to be aware of cheap knockoffs on ebay. They look nice and are priced way low but are trash for cash. This tarp is even better than unissued mil tarps.

Love the video. These are great tarps. I have two of them. Use them for hammocks. Very versatile with all of the tie outs.
@keithfillinger31828 жыл бұрын
It looks like a nice tarp, but it is heavy for a 10x13. My Snugpak All Weather Shelter (10x10) weighs half as much with tent stakes and a little paracord. I could carry two of those, snap the ends together to make a 10x20, and still carry less weight. Also, I would keep my shelter low to the ground in a rain storm in case the storm brought strong winds. Good video though!

I love when you put in the bloopers at the end haha. Seems like an good tarp, not a fan of the colour design, if they offered it in a solid OD or even a bright yellow/orange I might pick one up. Cheers.

Happy New Year Ben!!! Is there another tarp you would recommend or is this Aqua Quest be considered your "Go To" tarp? Thanks! Aaron
@livingsurvival9 жыл бұрын
+snakemonkey555 the two sizes of camo tarps they have are heavier duty 75d and I consider those when I need something strong or a ground mat configuration to sleep on. For hammock camping or something lighterweight their guide series works well. kelty, snugpak, eno, hennessy all make great flys for hammock camping as well. for a ground mat for a tent I just use a cheap $5 harbor freight utility tarp.

I was thinking about the weight of the 2 tarps while adding in my head the weight of the other gear to load up for a 2 - 3 day weekend camp outting. Bigger sounds better 2me. How do you go about figuring out the weight limit of your pack? Is there a body weight percentage equation? Sorry if I come off as a newbie, I am.
@livingsurvival9 жыл бұрын
edward ford testing what you are comfortable with is the key. I'd say for a day pack or overnight 25lbs or so with water/food is good. More for longer hikes but with longer hikes you will most likely have a backpacking style pack with a frame and good hip support and then go to 40-50lbs.
@tripeee589 жыл бұрын
Thank You very much.I just bought a Maxpedition Falcon 2 for edc but would like to get a Frost like the one you have. Many people say that you should save your money and just get an Army surplus Alice pack. Have you done a video on your pack?
