It's true anyway, Ayame are more inclined towards fps and agressive games than most of Holomem. Because most of Holomem not playing FPS, it's harder for Ayame to find good friend from the company. As we all know, Gen 1, 2 and 4 are famous for it distance between the members. They're not close to each other at all and have their own group of friends outside their Gen. Unlike the close-knit of Gen 3 and 5. That's not only Ayame, but also Towa and Akirose, these three have many friends outside of the company, and didnt hesitated to play with male streamers. Due to their unique tastes of gaming, for example Aki never missed any VCR, or Ayame and Towa play fps games a lot. When it's about introvert, Botan is actually the introvert one. Despite Botan also like fps game, she's more inclined toward playing with her Genmate or her group of Holomem, Choco, Luna, Subaru (this group of people sucks really hard at fps game but still play regardles). Or the PEBOT. Than playing with outsiders. Aki and Ayame are more extrovert and like to play with outsiders more. The ironic here is that both Aqua and Ayame like fps games, but while Aqua prefer to talk with Holomem and avoid outsiders. Ayame is the opposite. Put these two together and you have a noodle sipping asmr, as they don't know what to say. 😂

Shes close, she just meets them offline and doesn't make content out of it. I don't know where you are getting the impression that shes is close with vtubers outside of hololive though, its very rare for her to collab with anyone that's not a holomem.
