This is such a beautiful Iwagumi tank but I keep thinking about the winners of the ADA aquascaping competitions. Every winning aquascape is complicated, are minimalist "Iwagumi" style tanks no longer competitive? For instance, I'm still mesmerized when I see photos of original Amano tanks that are made with just a few stones and carpeted pastures. The fish fly over the landscape like birds. It's magical. I'm guessing, however, it's no longer enough in 2020 at the competition level.

Agree. It's clear that the more complicated your design is, and the difficulty level is their highest percentage in scoring, I guess.

@@greenminded838 I wish these judges would look at the paintings of Mark Rothko and Agnes Martin. There is fullness in emptiness. I'm not taking anything away from the winners in these contests. Their work is remarkable. When I look at, however, Takashi Amano's original Iwagumi tanks, nothing is more noble nor more beautiful.

Amazing aquascapes. To me all of them look amazing and way above my level of skill. There were 2500 entries this year, nevermind the ranking of one's tank if it was good enough to be accepted into this,he should be proud. In the event it made it to this top list then you should be thrilled, as you're one of the best in the world doing something that's not so easy to stand out as it looks. The amounts of amazing scapes you see out there today and 90% of them are from people we don't even know their name and are not even in the 2500 list. I hope one day to be able to put my work in one of these contests even if i end up in the bottom of the table.
