Appreciating that fly ridge hatch and its mechanism for being held open and the handle aligning with the handrail is NOT geeky. It’s an appreciation for detail that the designers work hard to live up to and it makes everyone’s boat better as a result. It’s the same with cars, planes, houses, phones and just about everything else. If people like us stop noticing and appreciating those details and innovation, they’ll quickly be value-engineered out of the design and we’ll all be driving identical beige cars and sailing identical beige boats. Keep it up.

Love this yacht! Proves you don't need more than £200k for everything you'll ever need to boat in style. I just need an extra £199, 867 to afford it. 😉👍

And you need the 50k for maintenance every year. I would say its worth around 20k just to get it out of the owners life. Sorry that the reality of these things.

docking 12-18k per year (its a 55 foot) depending where you want to keep it. Maintenence with defouling, lifting out of the water, engines etc.. 15-20 k (assuming nothing major happens) fuel 10-20k depending where you want to go. Insurance 5k. So you may get away with 30k if your lucky but defo 50k if you really want to use, enjoy and look after it! That's what he's saying.

Without the galley aft layout, you can't offert the full beam master cabin. That's a huge selling point for boats like a Manhattan 55 I imagine. Gives a real super yacht feel with a massive owners cabin.

My wife and I were tire kicking boats around the time this was built...Used Catalinas, Sea Rays...I wanted a Carver with a 35 foot aft cabin layout. I used to look at the new Fairlines, Rinkers and other new boats with the flowing lines and rounded details and say to myself "One day, I'll be looking at one of those for a price I can afford and it will still be BEAUTIFUL! That's a boat that will never go out of style!" Amazing isn't it...what a difference time makes when it comes to tastes in anything. Not that I would walk past this for that price but it sure doesn't awe me like it did back in the day!

I think it’s a very nice layout, I far prefer the galley down compared to the latest fad of galley aft. First time I’ve seen the internal stairs up to the fly bridge but as you say makes perfect sense to allow access from the galley. Yes the boat is a bit dated but it looks quality materials throughout other than the wrinkled wall lining in every room. A few pounds spent on this and it would be some boat. I don’t like the engine access though, would be better if it was accessed from that lazerette area

one final comment! also like that the overnight accommodation is separated from the engine space by the galley/utility room. Often see the master cabin backing straight onto the engine space and wonder if all the humming overnight from the engine space on your multi-million pound yacht would keep you awake.

I really like the sunken galley design. Azimut also did that in around that era. Thanks for the tour, it was noice to see that again.

A gentlemen cruiser and at the price, a dead set bargain. Love it. Thanks, Nick.

Wow wow wow wow wow! LOVE THIS BOAT! 😍 Gorgeous layout, features & look at that glossy wood! If my wife wasn’t so much of a landlubber I’d sell the house & live aboard now! I reckon an extra £25-30K spent to modernise the helm, replace carpets, deep clean plus a few modern touches & you would have yourself a mini super yacht! I love it! 🥰 OK, it’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow, I’ll spring it on her then & let you know! 😂👋🏻
