I have to say I really enjoy main decks WITHOUT the owners cabin. Why waste so much of the best daily living area on a giant bedroom that people mostly use at night. Putting all the accommodation below really makes this boat seem like a 140 footer. The vastness of the main deck is wonderful. All the accommodation was beautiful. Lovely finishes throughout. Hard to believe it is an older vessel. I struggle to imagine this boat being fully owner operated. An owner would need some pretty significant docking skills, and a solid understanding of the engine room to want to run this independently. The driving and navigating stuff is pretty simple. It’s the delicate activities that require added skill level. My fear running my own 40 footer was always related to what to do if I had a mechanical issue, because frankly, I am hopeless at mechanics! Anyway Nick, wonderful tour and another great Sunday morning start. Thanks!

Main deck owners cabins are good for older owners as they don't have to climb up and down steep winding stairs. Something that would be worth nothing in my younger days but much more so now! It's all about trade offs
@kevinmcintyre65032 күн бұрын
@@gap9992 Hi, I totally agree with your point on the stairs, but hey, they still need to navigate stairs to the upper deck too, so if you can’t handle some stairs it’s time for a boat with an elevator. But seriously friend - your point is valid and correct. Thanks for engaging.

I just love this yacht. It just feels so much bigger than it is. The wood through out is incredible. Its the finish I like the most. If I had the money, I wouldn't hesitate in buying her. A fantastic home on the water. Really do like this layout and all of the closet space which is difficult to get into. I like this one for what she is, a glimpse into yesteryear's luxury. She could use an overhaul, some of the appliances and finishes feel dated. On the other hand, that's a good thing too. Shows that the boat has been used during her life and hopefully she helpt building fun memories for the people using living aboard her. Although I do wonder just how many fridges and ice makers one really needs. This boat seems to have more of those than bedrooms!

Just out of curiosity, are the US and European requirements for crewing different? Because I thought over 24 meters required having a licensed skipper on board? Or, do some of these owners just obtain a license?
@AQUAHOLIC12 күн бұрын
It's 24 metres load line length. I don't know about this yacht specifically, but most superyachts of around 100ft (Sunseeker 100 Yacht, Princess X95 etc) are just below this length even though the LOA is clearly way above it.
