Honestly, the director is a big reason why I am positive about Aquaman. James Wan is a good director. Previous DC movies have either been manhandled by WB or made by Snyder, who, despite what his fans say, does not have a good track record in terms of quality of movies. I think WB has learnt its lesson after SS and JL regarding too much interference so I expect future DC movies will be better than the string of stinkers we have gotten before, barring WW.

I saw it. Here’s my quick review I cried Not cause it was sad but just the sheer joy I felt watching someone come from nothing And then to champion themselves as a hero. It’s been a long time since I felt that way or since a movie made me feel that way. Usually in superhero movies the hero is already a hero, but to watch Author go from being unsure of himself and constantly doubting that his own ppl will accept him to becoming the confident king we know and love was very well done. There was some pacing issues in the beginning but I would say this movie was a solid 8.9/10

Aquaman will do great. It's pretty much the one to beat this holiday. I don't see Bumblebee being the moviegoer focus at all, even though it looks better than all the the other Transformers films, because it's the Iron Giant, lol. Mary Poppins might do steady box office, picking up after families have seen Aquaman, or do super well if families with wee little kids come to theaters in droves. Stranger things have happened, but I'd be shocked if Aquaman didn't dominate domestic and foriegn.

I said it on another video, though I'll say it again here, I predict Aquaman will be an Avatar-level hit for WB/DC. I think this is going to be a real winner at the box-office and these first-reactions are only helping to pave the way. From the visuals to the talented director (who audiences have confidence in), so much of this film takes me back to 2009 when Avatar was on the verge of premiering and you could just feel it in the air that there was something about this film that was going to be absolutely massive. I'm doubtful that Aquaman can surpass Avatar, let alone Titanic, but there's something odd about this film that really stands out to me and I think a lot of audiences are going to pick-up on that. Everything about it just screams "classic" to me, in the sense that this seems like a very simplistic tale, which is less about complexity, and more about going on an awesome ride and exploring worlds that we haven't necessarily seen on-film before (I honestly can't think of many movies that take place primarily underwater in this sort of setting; the only one that came to mind, while writing this, was The Phantom Menace, yet that was just a 5-10 minute chunk of the film at most).

Best Case Scenario for Aquaman: It turns into the "Jumanji" of 2018/early 2019. It will have a "weak" opening weekend, but through good word of mouth will find an audience every week that is strong and consistent. I don't see it having a great opening weekend because too many people see "DCEU" and go "Sucks.". It's going to take word of mouth to make Aquaman a hit - not KZbinrs, no Tweets, it's going to take Jimmy in the Sale Department going "I went to see Aquaman - and damn that was fun!" and Lashana in accounting going "I went to see shirtless Mamoa, not gonna lie - but damn, the red haired chick? She was bad-ass! I'm gonna go see it again this weekend." face to face to drive the movie. Mary Poppins is likely going to underperform. I don't think it's hitting with the younger audiences enough to warrant more than a pair of good weekends (As parents drag their kids to see a movie that the parents think the family would like) before it fizzles out. I've never been a fan of Mary Poppins, my wife is a lukewarm fan (she likes Sound of Music much better) and she has no interest in seeing this on the big screen. My sisters aren't talking about it either, even to tease me about the Action Movies. "Hey, you think Aquaman is gonna be beaten by a girl?" is what I expect from them if they have an interest in it, but nada. (Well, so far.) And most of the KZbin reviews on the trailers have been mixed at best, so... Bumblebee MIGHT do well - it looks pretty solid from what I've seen. It's won me over to the point where I'm considering seeing it in theatres, where I haven't even watched the last one (King Arthur and his Autobots), and I THINK I saw the first Walberg Transformers, but that could honestly be me remembering the Trailers and Review Videos instead of the actual movie. If it's won me back on the strength of its trailers, Bumblebee might actually overperform. But not by much - enough to justify a Sequel, I expect, but not more.

Ots my opinion I have never really liked DC comics or movies. Spider-Man was my life as a kid so I grew up on reading him thrn Iron Man like my sister and our love for Marvel the more we read and learned about. You can like DC I can like Marvel and that's that it's not a big deal. It's my opinion I dont have to like them

@Lord Voldemort and I never said Marvel hasnt been dark I am well aware of that. Batman Superman Flash all of them really just dont catch me as entertaining. I can say I do enjoy the Aquaman Comics and Green Arrow and Green Lanter but I still cant say I really enjoy DC as much as Marvel

DC and Marvel had playful rivalry just to boost sales between them both, something Stan Lee understood. Only idiotic people take this to the next extreme levels and think you truly need to be on either side of the fence and hate the other guy 100% of the time? Marvel hasn't branched out and has only published superheroes 95% of the time. Warners with their DC related material was far more successful decades ago with their movies than what Marvel offered up with straight to video fare. If it weren't for; Kevin Feige the Marvel films wouldn't even have a worked out as a film series at all. Sorry but most passionate Marvel fans online at the very least, do seem way too child-like and only see things in the whole; "them vs us" context of most comic book or film debates.
