I bought one in 2007, now it’s still running, 7/24 non stopping. It does the job and is super quiet. I love my EHEIM 2217!

Came again to watch it for the 5th time . Bought the eheim 2217. I have made a diy 4 litre fluidized k1 filter as prefilter for this. It will catch all the sand ,disintegrate the big detritus . Thanks aquamanknox.

I had a 2217 (old name for the 600) that ran for 14 years before giving it to a friend. I also have a 2260 that is now 23 years old. Great filters

Hello . I have watched this video several time bcause I like the way u present. Just had a question, has the motorblock quality worsen now (after the manufacturing has been done in china).???
@aquamanknox Жыл бұрын
The motor block is still good quality on the Eheim classic and its best feature.

@@aquamanknox plz try to review shiruba filters too. They are made in taiwan and have much better quality than sunsun and are at affordable price
@aquamanknox Жыл бұрын
@@yashbhoir2087 I did test these for close to a year. They are powerful and have some nice features. In the US they are sold via private label by a company. They are better than sunsun but they are not at the level of the top canisters in my tests so I did not do a video. They are a great value at the price in Tawain where I first saw them. They have an issue with the small tub that purges the air for the pump. It gets hard and can fall off. The Prices in the US put it up in price against better models. I did have a few that started leaking over time. I tested 3 units.
@yashbhoir2087 Жыл бұрын
@@aquamanknox thanks for the answer. Plz tell me what better models are you referring to. One last question do hydor tranquilflow canisters are know to last as much as eheim and fluval???
@aquamanknox Жыл бұрын
@@yashbhoir2087 Hydor is out of this market. I have used those canisters, and they are not as good as the Canister you asked about. Depending on the use and application you are using it for the Oase, Fluval, and Eheim are the best. The Only oase I would use are the The larger models. Only the square models with easy top lean prefilter. The Fluvals are good with higher flow. The Eheim is reliable and the Classic model is quiet. Everything else is below them. If you tell me what you are doing and the price points in your area I can help you decide. Tank size= Type of aquarium= Freshwater, Cichlids, planted etc?, location in your home= Bedroom living room etc.

Classic 600 vs professional 4+350. What is your recomendation for tank 60cm x 36cm h x 40cm
@aquamanknox Жыл бұрын
The Classic has a motor block that lasts forever. I would go with that. If not, Oase. I have a classic still in operation, the Fluvals, and about 10 Biotherms by Oase.
@nenadmilosavljevic876 Жыл бұрын
@@aquamanknoxthanks a lot. I have had experience with professional 4+ 600, but for the smaller tank I am considering the classic 600. Than you for you suggestion. I have decided, the choice is eheim classic 600

Recently purchased this for a 75 gallon tank the outtake I great but I feel the intake takes nothing in. Like a see things floating next to the intake and just float by without being sucked in. I also bought a prefilter to extend the intake are however no improvement. Am I doing anything wrong?

Can you test the outlet flow. It matches the inlet flow

How ddid you pack the filter?

Hey, can you run a test to check real time GPH of this one? Just fill up a 10 liter tub of water and see how much time it takes to fill it up. Thx. Subbed.
@aquamanknox2 жыл бұрын
I plan on doing this but can confirm Eheim is pretty good about their testing from my lab tests on them. however real world testing with different media and packing is what I want to do.
@rockfella272 жыл бұрын
@@aquamanknox Much appreciated. I have a DoPhin C1600 canister, rated at 2540 LPH. I ran it empty with the outlet lower than the inlet and it was able to fill a 15 liter bucket in 50 seconds: 1080 LPH. That's less than half of "rated" gph in favorable conditions lol. Was wondering how this classic works in real world scenario.

Found out a better way by using 2 x 2217 , 1 to house just the sponge and filter wool as a pre-filter and the other just houses the Sera Siporax 15mm . Its expensive if you bought the 2217 brand new but got mine on the 2nd hand market so I saved a bit to purchase the Siporax .
@aquamanknox2 жыл бұрын
I like Siporax but prefer the natural material of Aqualife biomatrix. It has performed better from my experience and has some micronutrients that help the plants. I have used it in aquaponics and to grow watergarden plants as well. I do put the siporax in my top list but it is very expensive. I also have had better results with it for saltwater aquariums when used in sumps.
