Hi, how do ypu charge your battery? Any advice on how to get one to run 24/7 would be appreciated Thanks

Solar panels and a charge controller. You can see my battery bank in my greenhouse videos.

@@penguinponics I've watched all your videos can't make out what you have going on there with all them wires lol Do a video off your system? I'd like to see how the turbine works with the solar panels

@@robertstone7484 It's actually on my short list of things to do. I want to clean up the wiring a bit first.

been their done that with a dozen or so aco-03/6's 3 months max and they are stuffed , the brushes / armatures wear out pretty fast , so now using battery / inverter and LP-100's

hello sir, can this be used for arduino projects for automation?
@penguinponics4 жыл бұрын
It's a simple DC pump so with a relay of some sort you could use with an Arduino
@christopherstaples42222 жыл бұрын
better off using an inverter and run AC as DC pumps only last ~ 3000 hrs before the brushes are stuffed

Not sure on the pump construction but brushless dc motors exist. But ac pumps are actually very simple some like the tetra series don't even use a motor rather a oscillating electromagnet pushing on a diaphram. Tetra makes some high output ones that can be rebuilt with a 18$ kit, vs tossing a 80$ pump

Hi sir.. what do you call that white thing between the battery and the air pump??

Step down converter to take the 24v battery down to 12v.

How's the pump still working out
@penguinponics2 жыл бұрын
I'm ashamed to say I haven't plugged it back in yet. I pulled it after a failure and put a different one in play. It has been cleaned out and greased but still waiting to be tested! With excess sun coming soon I'll get it plugged in and report back.

is your pump still working? am curious if it will last. Also have solar powered aquaponics here.
@penguinponics4 жыл бұрын
Yes! I run it 10 to 12 hours a day and have not has an issue with performance.

@@penguinponics thanks. ordering 1 that is 18 watts but will run it 24/7, hope it will last

@@penguinponics how's the pump holding up, I've seen these on Amazon with sketchy reviews. I've been using a tetra ap300, which has a serviceable diaphragm. unfortunately it's ac so it needs a inverter, but the design is bulletproof.

@@byteaquaponics I'll see if I can plug it back in this weekend. My free time is limited with a special needs child. Need to test if rebuild fixed it.

Does yours get hot like mine?

It did. It died a couple months ago but I've already opened it. Looks like I should be able to clean out the grime and grease it. That'll be soon. Got a lower powered air pump in place for now.

@@penguinponics let me know when you find carbon brushes that work

@@christopherstaples4222 I finally got around to fixing it. Didn't have to replace the brushes. Lubricated the inside shaft after cleaning it. I tried to grease and lubricate on the diaphragm side but that didn't make a difference.
