Aquarium fish in a planted aquarium? Is it even possible to lay down the basics of fishkeeping in a short video? Well, we'll try to cover this topic in the video. Most of us started this hobby inspired by the colorful 3D world of tropical fish. This is where aquascaping starts too - with the harmony of fish, aquatic plants, and hardscape in a beautiful planted aquarium. But what are the needs of the underwater inhabitants? Lóri, the Green Aqua fish expert, will try to answer some of your questions in the comments.

You guys are so hugely informative! I love love love this channel! I only have a 60L tank, and not much money to do any crazy cool hard scaping like what you do, but you guys inspired me to really think about how to maximize the impact of what I *could* afford and I think for my first go on a really small budget I did pretty good 😊 and I had so much fun watching through your videos to pick up little ideas and tips here and there 😊 I'd love to see you do a tank with a big school of rummy-nose tetras (one of the types of fish I got) I think the schooling looks so good, especially in tanks that are long rather than tall 😊 keep up the amazing work you guys! Love from Ireland 🇮🇪

Great Video as always guys. I had a room full of aquariums as a teenager and many decades later I am thinking of getting myself a 4-6 foot tank for 2023. I’d love to keep a few discus in a planted tank along with some tetras but I’m not really sure if the discus are compatible with a fully planted aqua scape or smaller fish. Discuss… (pun fully intended lol)

Hey, after a 15 year dry season I'm coming back to having an aquarium and I'm doing a dennerle scaper's tank 55l which is about 10 times smaller than the smallest of my old ones (not mine obviously, I worked in a public aquarium). This video is old so I'm not sure I'll get an answer but can I keep any pangio specie in a dennerle 55l with lots of roots? My filter is a jbl cristalprofi 700 so it should cope but can I keep enough of them so they are happy? (5/6 I guess). With otocynclus, amano and borara brigittae . Thank you and keep up the good work (I just ordered a chihiros c2 rgb from you guys... Hope it'll be enough for carpet and h'ra in my tank).

You can find more white ones. Sometimes,i find on the fish list (from where we order) the 'white' versions of these fish: Nematobrycon palmeri Gymnocorymbus ternetzi Tanichthys albonubes Corydoras aeneus Just a few example. ;)

Great video! Just wanted to point out that the 2-5 minutes rule of thumb for feeding is not always the best to go by simply because it increases the chance of over feeding your fish. I’d say do research ladies and gentlemen depending on the fish you get to really feed your fish the right amount. For my betta fish I feed only 4 small pellets some days and 3 bloodworms other days and 3 tiny little pieces of frozen mysis shrimp other days to mix his diet while still keeping the amount appropriate for my betta. Also there’s research for how many fishes to have in a tank according to the type of fish. Is never how many fishes you would like because that can cause overcrowding in your tank. Just some tips I’ve learned over the year of research to make sure we provide the best environment and diet possible for our aquatic friends!

I agree Vivian completely. I only said that because of my fish at home, I really give them a small portion, but these are very shy fish and they don't really like to come up to the surface so I kinda have to wait until they eat it up. I know, sinking pellets, but I did not want them for these Celestial pearl danios... But Lóri's method is much better, to add a tiny portion they eat in seconds, and repeat a couple of times. That's what you do too.

Thanks a lot for another amazing video :) A couple of questions if you don't mind: 1) Is it safe to have "Siamese Algae Eater" in a tank with baby Red Cherry Shrimps? 2) Do Amano Shrimp eggs foul the water? They will not hatch eventually. 3) What are the benefits of having Corydoras in a tank? Is it a must? Thank you in advance.

I try my best to help answer your questions brother.. 1. Its okay..SAE not eat the shrimps (they just eat a die shrimps) 2. I'm gonna pass this question because i never found a amano egg in my tank 3. Corydoras will help eat a leftover food on the bottom of your tank
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
1, if you have an adult siamese,probably not safe,and don't eat the algae as like the smaller size. 2,i never see any algae problem 'cause the amanos eggs. 3, usually we keep corys,when we use cosmetic sand in the tank.They help to keep the sand clean. Lóri

Hello guys thanks for the great videos! Can you do one on the plant for hire temperature fish tank, like a discus tank? Thank you.
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
I have literally not know anybody with discus who was also a happy planted tank owner. All will struggle. That does not mean you can not keep plants, but it's a constant fight, because you will have to prioritize the need of the fish over the need of the plants. Anyways, please go to the Green Aqua youtube channel and check out the plant menu, there is a "plants for warm water" list.

@@GreenAquaShop I haven't any professional video on KZbin about how I could cure my fish on ich infections. It is really confusing, because aquascape is planted tank, I'm worried using chemical to the tank might harm the plant or the fish itself. But doing nothing makes me feel bad for the fish. I used some methods, but I don't know which methods actually work best. I used garlic and ich medicine. But some of small fish and shrimps died on the process : ( it might be because of the wrong way and method. Hope this comment could be your reference on your video. Thank you green Aqua.
