I mean cuz it is wrong. You know those colorful hamster cages? That’s not adequate living for a hamster because of its size. So is a fishbowl. There are actually sizes “recommended” for animals. But those stupid cages barely meet the requirements to stay on the shelf’s. And since it’s uneducated pet stores selling the to uneducated parents for they’re uneducated 4 year old who loves the color pink, the company can stay in business.

Monsoons can cause flooding and current that can move them, but they generally stay in their own territories, usually 6-12" deep water in heavy vegetation... Please remember that Bettas absolutely hate being in small environments. People think it's okay for them to be in small little bowls because that's how they sell them, but I'm pretty sure fish can be stressed from confinement. You don't need to get them a gigantic tank or two, but a nice tank that can fit a few larger fish will be great. Just want people to know to really care about what they do with their fish.

they live in rice paddies and puddles during dry seasons they can thrive in 3 gallon tanks the problem is people don’t know that less water = wilder parameter swings when doing water changes and that’s what really stresses out a betta but they are completely comfortable in tiny tanks some live their whole lives in puddles. The reason not to put them jn bowls is it distorts their vision

big tanks but not deep ones. It's easier for them to swim up to get fresh air. and bettas sleep on their own mattresses made of leaves near the surface :)

the misconception on betta fish liking small spaces originated in tourists mistaking display bowls in Asian markets as their preferred way of living. Wild betta fish live in flooded rice fields, and thrive in large, wide tanks with lots of vegetation to hide in. Just make sure the tank isn't too deep, because they have lungs as well as gills and need to come up for air sometimes.

The only thing I might change is the rocks. Those rocks can be really sharp. Bettas love to rest and sleep on things. They might get abraded.

I love this so much omg. It simulates a more natural environment of them traveling in (shallow) water like swamps or rice paddy fields, that goes on for ages (their territory is usually 1 square meter). Would love to see blueberry in a labyrinth of diff tanks with bridges like this. It would be so amazing. You could even make certain tanks community tanks with other fish if blueberry gets along with them. (No long finned fish).

I hear the floating tanks can end up low on oxygen in the extension parts... but it being a betta & the fact he doesn't seem to chill in the bridge long... Honestly, ive got an idea, however its probably very dificult. Make 2 tanks like in the video but space them furthur out, (no more thand 2.5 feet, but more than 6 inches.) Put a tunnel, persay on a rectangle tank, connect them in the center of their short (in width) side and put like plants and other things. another way to do this is 1 HUGE tank, divide it in 2, and take same amount off both sidds and make a fish bridge, and only a small little tunnle for the bridge with a bunch of plants which would look just magnificent and i belive its call a terrarium ? Possibly? Either way have something like that surrounding a small tunnel to make it cooler

Hey, I don't mean to be that comment, but I have heard stories of fish suffocating in fish bridges because there's no flowing water through them. Idk it probably will be fine since there's nothing obstructing the bridge and only one betta in the tank, but it may be something you want to keep an eye on.

I think extra space is always a good idea, but given that bettas have to breathe water from the surface you may want to just use a bigger tank so it doesn't get confused and suffocate. Hope this helps!

In the wild, during the dry season, Betta live in tiny little puddles or even under a damp leaf. However, during the wet season, Betta live in bodies of water that are bigger than any tank. I think Betta is one of those fish who can thrive in almost anything.

Wild beta live in shallow "streams". They dont need a lot of water to survive but, just like any other animal, they thrive in a wide area. The streams they live in in the wild stretch across feild sized areas of marsh or more
