I like the goldfish with a “natural” looking body, and with long fins is cool too. Comet, Shubunkin and Feeder kind of goldfish. But most of these “fancy” goldfish look absolutely horrendous and malformed, like Ranchu, Telescope or Bubble Eye….

I feel like the carp family of fish have the nicest (natural) body shape of any fish family. They have a clean, slick look, great scales, nice fins and are also not flat as pancakes as most cichlids are for example. Koi carp are absolutely beautiful

is there a liquid that you can add to water that has microbes and fairy shrimp that you can add to fresh water tank for your fish to eat and that can repopulate and thrive in water?? that won't kill shrimp if added regularly if needed

I wish the closest thing is Phillip’s fish works bag of bugs. I wish we had something similar to algaebarn’s pod offerings where it’s just the stuff you want less no bad hitchhikers.

The meteor goldfish is considered the rarest breed of goldfish. They are a tailless form thought to have been developed by goldfish breeders during the late 19th or early 20th century.

Personally, I feel that any of the mutant goldfish have such a poor quality of life that they shouldn’t be bred or sold, the ones with the protruding eyes, head tumor growth, truncated spines or any other mutations clearly For appearance is unfair to the fish The only goldfish that I feel should be in the hobby are the ones close to the original koi/carp stock (comets/feeders, koi, maybe veil tails if you push it) should be the only ones in the hobby.
@bloemkoolendestreetgang45015 күн бұрын
I completely agree, those fancy goldfish are awful and look horribly disfigured, like the pugs and chihuahuas of the fish world.
@hannahbauer56509 күн бұрын
aren't feeders goldfish comet goldfish? minus them being kept in poorer conditions why are they in separate categories?

Nice information, but am I the only one who finds all these exaggerated features grotesque? If I get a fish I want one that looks like a fish, not some weird skin bubble with fins.
@bloemkoolendestreetgang45015 күн бұрын
I agree, most of these fish are horrible. But i do also like the ones with long fins, if their body looks natural. Like shubunkins
