The irony of the mask from "The Mask" is that whoever wears it has their inner personality externalized and exaggerated. Stanley's inner child was able to escape through the mask, allowing him to "go with the flow" with whatever he truly desired. That said, what it released was chaotic for the rest of society that wasn't able to handle his unique style of "freedom". Lately, I've been thinking a lot about flow versus structure. Without structure I struggle to make sense of what I'm experiencing. But at the same time, that same structure feels constrictive to the call of my heart. Reading for my North Node. I am a Scorpio and the frog segment was really interesting because I was sitting on my front steps about an hour ago and a frog hopped at the bottom step. I've seen the frog before on the far end of my yard a week or two ago when I went to check my mailbox. I decided that afternoon to finally reconnect with the earth and walked barefoot across my lawn to the mailbox and I saw the frog (who was very tiny at the time, no taller than the blade of trimmed grass) I said hello, took pictures, thanked it for its presence and wished it well but a thought did cross my mind about the threat of a bird snatching it (we have big birds in Georgia) or it getting caught in the lawnmower (we have big lawnmowers too lol). Fast-forward to today, the frog hopped out of the foliage at the side of my stoop and kicked it with me while I was on the porch drawing cards from my tarot deck. Again I said hello, took pictures, thanked it for its presence, and wished it well. Another story about the Deer segment. On a random Sunday morning, a deer had entered my backyard. Behind my house is a mini-woodland. It was injured badly. Both of its front legs were broken (literally hanging by the skin) and it had been shot in its rear leg. The bullet exited the back of its other thigh close to its anus. Somehow it made it into my yard and sat close to my patio and waited. I recognized the deer because its mother used to bring her kids into the back of my yard to eat the grass and they would venture closer to my house, start looking in my living room windows, chasing each other etc and she would freak out. They were safe though. I let them have at it. Never pushed them away, they were welcomed. I even named them. The mom was Deery, the two babes were Dearly and Beloved. But I knew that the deer was one of the kids. It had grown to be so beautiful. I tried to best I can to find a way to save the deer but it was Sunday, animal control wasn't available and the only viable option that was presented to me was to put the deer down. The deer tried to gallop back to the woods but it legs... it was a horrible site... I cried when the trigger was pulled and stayed with the deer until it fully transitioned. Since animal control was unavailable to pick up the body, we got in contact with a facebook group who wanted the body for the meat. I'm part native American on both of my parents' side (Powhatan and Cherokee), so felt "traditional" to me. I allowed them to take the body but with one request which was that I wanted the antlers. Two days later they gave me the antlers which sit on my altar and took my that the parts of the meat were damaged from high impact. Apparently, the deer was shot by hunters and ran into the road where it was stuck by a vehicle (broke its front legs) and still managed its way to my patio. I wish I could've done more.
