I think of literally the comic Watchmen (“who watches the watchmen”) it explores the complex relationship between ethics and grief, showing how personal losses shape each character’s idea of right and wrong. Here’s my resent situation I’ve been dealing with my best friend. I feel it resonates with “the watch men” Your over reaction not stopping your negative thoughts about yourself & situation. Continual pushing this at me. I tried to be a pillar of strength for as long as I could for you & my own chaos & troubles. Till I couldn’t any longer. I pulled back. And away from you. Which then created ripples. Not being your strength. Missing important events like your birthday, not talking to you when you came to my door. Creating more ripples I was trying to avoid a deeper untangled mess. I chose to stay silent instead of speaking. Avoiding hurting your feelings saying things I would regret. But I hurt you in another way. By not being there. So the conclusion from all this we were both wrong in our reactions with each other. I am sorry I could no longer be your source of strength for you. I hope you understand I am trying to see this all from a balanced perspective. Where neither of us was right. We were both wrong in how we handled this. And how we handled each other.

My father's family (I haven’t seen him in 18 years) contacted me through my KZbin channel, and they have strange intentions. Suddenly, everything made sense. The hat men are entities who wear hats & coats, they come to warn us about things, and help us. Once I had one pop up next to my bed in the middle of the night, when my son was in a very dangerous situation. That was before I knew about them, and I sat up in bed and pointed to the door and yelled - GET OUT! I wish I had asked him what I needed to know.

Edit: Almost forgot to write this but I literally drew the people you were describing just a few days ago! It was just one, but as soon as you describe the "hat" I realized I had seen them. I had a horrible feelings yesterday evening, in the mall where I work. It came from a new place that just opened up - a church community and music school - except, it always has curtains up. It's never had a service that I'm aware of, or music lessons, and I'm there working every Sunday. Directly adjacent to them.. Had the same feeling the day prior, only it was during a halloween event and happened in two different locations. I only realized it was coming from this church last night. I found out that my boss/friend/mentor keep feeling the same thing. It feels like someone being hurt. Badly. And I recently just had a repressed memory of being hurt in the same way come back not even a month ago. I feel like I'm being asked to be vigilant, but to act out of fury, not anger. I've always felt that I am a guardian and a protector. If the watchmen want to guide my hand, so be it. I'll be an avenging angel. I've already asked spirit not to let me ruin my life in the process XD
