While this map does appear in Extermination Day, it should be noted that both that project and this map are made by the same author. I also found out that nfh2.wad is a prototype of the map for the EDay project, as the author decided to release it as a standalone map. The map was later optimized and re-released for the said project. My favorite map of Extermination Day by far. Even when I made levels back in the 90's, I was a real sucker for trying to make believable interiors and lived-in spaces and this just blows anything I tried out of the water.

Your searching style is very chaotic. Starting from one side of the map to the other might have helped speed up your search of things. You kept going over the same places over and over, was very confusing. But good wad, good video

5:21 Actually in Brutal Doom map made Blurspheres are changed with tied marines. So if you play with Brutal Doom, you get a marine in this map.

Now THIS is a perfect example of what the DOOM modding community should be like, making good maps like this one, not that terry trap crap, hey that rhymes. I have this map as part of a megawad called Brutal Doom Hell on Earth. A must play megawad. I think that Doom 2 maps should have been made this way (e.g. Downtown is an actual city and suburbs takes place in a suburban neghborhood) but PCs of the day like mine couldn't handle big maps like this. Someone should release a 32 level Megawad that recreates doom 2 maps like this.

Y'know Aqua, speaking of neighborhoods that went to hell, why don't you try a WAD (well, technically speaking, PK3) called Dawn of Reality? It's a very interesting map that recreates author's neighborhood from his hometown of Bytom in Poland (including the interior of his own apartament) as far as GZDoom limitations allow. Except unlike in real life there are demons, lots of them, as if real-life Bytom wasn't dangerous enough with all the junkies and other hoodlooms roaming around (seriously, this city is our equivalent to Detroit). In fact so much demons that I personally feel the balance is off, it's even hard to get the monsters into infighting, but the build quality is unqestionably great. Give it a try, seriously.

I'd actually say this one's ok. I feel like i've seen the setting before of a town. Plain and normal never fit in Doom no matter how impressive. It's a typical los angeles feeling with little green and bland buildings, always makes me feel ill. Pirate Doom though is one of the most beautiful or at least visually pleasing level designs i've seen in a game. Colorful and great texture use from both Monkey Island and Rayman 2. Great in scale as well which is what sets Doom levels apart from normal games, the large yet humble scale of everything. So nah this pushes all the wrong buttons for me. At least they put effort into it, sort of. It's big but many amazing map mods are and they're better and best in every way. For many good reasons. One of which you must try is Eviternity. Not just maps, episodes. Full blown episodes with a map transition like in Half-Life. The attention to detail and pure Doom-age with level design and use of the textures and good enemy placement. And it's a little less of a key hunt with more of buttons unlocking new areas to the next button.

Incredible map. I have to say, though, that this player who made the video is awful. Running over the same ground constantly, no idea where he is, and can't shoot, cover or attack at all. Almost like the player had never played Doom before. Incredibly annoying when trying to watch the video and check out the map (which, like I said, is incredible).
