To be fair, the team behind No Man's Sky had lost the project on a flood and wanted to delay the release, but the publishers forced them not to. Since then they have updated the game with all the stuff they promised it would have.

Great list here! it's awesome that you mentioned ZDaemon City. IIRC, the concept for that one was somewhat based on an older and very similar mod for Zandronum called "Doom Center". You might be able to get that one to run natively more easily!

Correct, it's based on Doom Center! And Doom Center was based on ZDaemon Center. :). While I'm super flattered by the mention, it was never meant to be officially released as a Doom mod. It was more of a collection of assets and memes in the form of an open city for me and my friends to hang out in. A server still runs on ZDaemon if anybody wishes to check it out.

Good video though the bit about Eric Harris is wrong. While Eric did make maps for Doom, he never made a map replica of columbine. The map most sources claim that, UAC Labs, looks nothing like his school at all. This was all an unsubstantiated rumor formed from the fact that he made maps and name checked Doom in his journal. On a much lighter note, if you want a wad with an actual working motorcycle, Ashes 2063 has one. Check it out. It's pretty good.

Fun factoid; doom roguelike ended up getting a C&D, but the developer later made a spiritual successor, Jupiter Hell. Anyone interested should check it out As an aside, really like the way the thumbnail looks this time. Some of the way KZbin scales the thumbnail does cover the kart racers sadly, but it looks great on front page.

Anyways, Doom Remake is actually an asset compliation that the "author" cobbled together with old outdated mods without their creators permission, banking on the general public's ignorance on modding. And when he was called out by the modding community, he apparently forged a C&D letter from Zenimax to save face. I recommend GuyCalledErick's videos on the "mod"

I had tons of Doom wads back in the early 2000s such as Simpsons Doom, Evil Dead Doom, 8 Bit Doom, and too many to remember off hand. Evil Dead was my favorite and fit perfectly.
