Correct, it's based on Doom Center! And Doom Center was based on ZDaemon Center. :). While I'm super flattered by the mention, it was never meant to be officially released as a Doom mod. It was more of a collection of assets and memes in the form of an open city for me and my friends to hang out in. A server still runs on ZDaemon if anybody wishes to check it out.

Fun factoid; doom roguelike ended up getting a C&D, but the developer later made a spiritual successor, Jupiter Hell. Anyone interested should check it out As an aside, really like the way the thumbnail looks this time. Good video though the bit about Eric Harris is wrong. While Eric did make maps for Doom, he never made a map replica of columbine. The map most sources claim that, UAC Labs, looks nothing like his school at all. This was all an unsubstantiated rumor formed from the fact that he made maps and name checked Doom in his journal. On a much lighter note, if you want a wad with an actual working motorcycle, Ashes 2063 has one. Check it out. It's pretty good.

One thing to note, I gave up on the mod once after thinking it was bugged long ago. If you can't pick up an item, it means you have to drop something to make room for more. Select an item with your inventory selector then press use item, when the text pops up then you hit zoom (drop) to drop inventory items. You can't drop them from the pda as far as I know, it's done in game. Just hit zoom twice to drop weapons. You can only carry a limited number of a specific weapon enhancer (3), and only 1 of the other special modules. This mod has over 200 weapons, it seems simple enough at first, but this is like an entirely new game. Here are some combos that feel like they were made for each other. The Goat combo: Ad Mortem maps DRLA weapons Enhanced Flashlight mod (some areas get a bit dark and the flashlight ads a nice ambience, I always use it) Healthbar Mod Damage Numbers mod For monsters use Project Malice (many rare spawns, SO MANY enemies, some rare variants are difficult fitting the roguelike aspect), or Shades of Doom for cosmetic changes having 400+ monsters, there is of course the drla monsters mod to. Maybe play it with the default Ad Mortem enemies first. Snes thematic combo: For a more lighthearted alternative, use all of the above but replace the maps with Super Mayhem (Super Mario World with the same polish, level design, and clever secrets) with the Colorful Hell monster mod (for the variety and matching visuals), it's a difficult monster mod, use lower difficulties and test it out a bit. Alternatively you can use combined arms with this same set up for more of a authentic snes feel, I recommend using Link because of his shield, it makes colorful hell a lot more methodical and fair and still has a bit of progression. The adventures of Square maps can work to. Metal Slug/Contra combo/R-Type: (Turns doom into an arcade type game.) Overboard (cyriak) Maps Iron Snail/Contra Doom/R-type (bydofied) weapons Iron Snail Enemies *Optional - For even more progression, use Gun Bonsai to upgrade guns and modify bullet types, gain unique perks, should be compatible with all of these. Might be overwhelming, try it without first, and once you get used to all the features then try adding it. I believe it takes away the special backpacks from drla, not a big deal.

Few other ones that were big Defense/Invasion, Skulltag added Invasion as a gamemode, and several invasion wads were created, the most prominent of which was probably Stronghold. Shotgun Frenzy was another big one, and it straddled the line with Strategy, as one player played as a Commander role similar to Natural Selection. Strategy: Doom Wars, a PvP wad where you chose a faction from the different Doom-engine games and spawned minions to fight for you, goal was to kill the enemy players.
