Absolutely 💯 such a beautiful aquarium … I love the art and science of aquascaped planted tanks and I enjoy all different methods and styles of planted aquarium … I have low tech tanks, tanks with filters, and those with co2. Certainly you don’t need a super high tech tank to have a beautiful planted tank but i believe it has limitation if you are for instance want to have only rocks and carpeting plants and over stocked with fish. It’s a preference.

Just peeped it, and grabbed one for my tank! How many fish did you put in though, and it's a 170 gal? I'm starting to realize if I want bigger fish I am going to need a filter, so I may stick with smaller schooling fish.@@peaceofnaturee

It’s 170 Gal, I think I have 50 fish in this tank. Big fish have big problems 🙂

Hello! Turtles won’t be good in dirted setups because they will disturb the soil. We don’t want our soil to mix with the water too much because it will change the water parameters quickly.

I like to start my dirt tank first time... Need only garden soil or need to add amy dried leaves, cocopeat, vermi compost in the soil? Because i see so many videos some of them add compost, leafs etc... Waiting for your reply...

I only use organic garden soil. Besides that, I haven't added anything else to the soil. You can put dry leaves into the aquarium; it won't cause any harm.
