A WORK OF ART.... WELL PLANNED... CONCEIVED... SET UP... THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE...
@godsbigtoe9805 жыл бұрын
These videos are extremely relaxing- I really appreciate the artistry. I’ve always believed there is a certain wonder in aquariums, I can sit and watch one for an hour or two. These videos are so interesting because as a classical artist I’ve never even thought of exploring art through this medium. It makes so much since though because composition and movement is so exquisitely executed in this context. An aquarium really highlights certain principles and elements of art in a very unexpected way. Absolutely beautiful and James Findlay is a genius

I owned 4 goldfish from a young age, they came from the funfair as many unfortunate fish do, luckily my dad was a hippy and created a realistic living environment for them, with living plants etc, no filter, only changed the water every few weeks, he would stick the fish into a bucket of fresh water, completely empty the tank and start again, the substrate just looked like a river bed so I'm not sure how it ever got to that stage, the fish lived for 20-22 years........madness! but true! :D Im just starting a small planted tank now to see what I can create! best hobby ever!!!!

I started keeping fish over 60 years ago and we always tried our best to hide filters, heaters, tubing and the like. In today's video, I was surprised to see all that equipment left out in the open, highly visible. Don't you think it detracts from the natural beauty of the aquarium setup? I certainly do.

newbie question, for routine cleaning maintenance, do you siphon the rocks or soil or just the water?

With enough plants and beneficial bacteria you don't need to. They do it all for you.
@SueandGambo5 жыл бұрын
William Pike periodically how often do u change just the water?
@house98503 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend when you do a weekly 30% water change, siphon the ground area at the same time using a turkey baster to stir up detritus and vacuum the resulting cloud. Even with plants and a cycled tank, you should remove as much as you can during your maintenance routine. Just my opinion to avoid algae as much as possible.

question? since i already know i cant afford all that u you, even for a 20gal tank, say you use underwater filtration on both ends with rocks covering that and in the middle use ur technique for growing live plants, does it work. im only asking because if i heard correctly, dont you have to manually clean out ur filtrate bye hand? meaning a filter bye itself just wont do the trick

Is there a reason you don't inject the CO2 into the inlet line of your canister filter? I hear it absorbs close to 100% this way and eliminates bubbles in your tank. I'm still learning and wonder your opinion on this.
@robpearce16738 жыл бұрын
It does yeah. Not as aesthetic though which I think is why this method is often used. Tiny tanks also need minimal co2 so that might be an overkill. Im running 22l nano with inline and welding co2 as its cheap and easy to stabilise.

In this video, the tank is ADA cube garden 60P 60x30x36cm which costs approximately 140 €. The prices differ in each shop. Also yes, ADA products are quite expensive but have high quality and aesthetics are amazing. Their minimal design really showcases and emphasizes your aquascape. Personally, I see ADA as the Apple of aquascaping.
