In this aquascaping tutorial for beginners we are going to setup a red cherry shrimp tank! I have a small group of beautiful red cherry shrimp and I think they deserve their own beautiful tank!

Lovely scape! Personally love that you showed in your video the algae bloom after 2 weeks which is the reality for most of us in the hobby. Might I ask if you made any water changes in the first 2 weeks? Sorry if I missed it in the video

Beautiful example of nano scape with high impact and low complexity, it’s a difficult balance but you got it nailed. I prefer the talking videos, but I understand it’s good to try new things… I would like to see some on screen text over the plant names in their positions if you’re going silent, saves jumping back and forward trying to figure what’s what… keep up the great work MJ….

Have you set up the Filtosmart as written in the box? Its weird that the water first goes through mechanical filtration and than through the sponge. After watching Richards (Pond Guru) video about this one i changed it up and it works great. First sponges. Than filterfloss. I removed the tube and the round sponge. That part i filled 3/4th with Eheim Substrat Pro. And than a 1 cm thick course sponge to make sure the media doesnt get sucked up by the impeller. Works great.

hey so i recently rescaped my dennerle 60L cube and wanted to shift the focus on to the back part of the tank so i could see the shrimp howevrr it looks a little empty any advice?

How did you balance your co2 with shrimps? Mine becomes inactive after injecting diy co2. 11 sec per bubble counting it from the second bottle.

Love the videos, owned aquariums for years but recently new to planted side of things and been using youre videos as tutorials👍🏻 One question I do have do do you ever suffer from fish loss with injected co2 I have two drop indicators that when co2 is on is green and when off blue never been in yellow once in my aquarium and been having fish die here and there for past month so turned the co2 of for 3 weeks now and have had no fish losses, And ideas what this could be ?

Is oase 60 smart filter suitable for 35×24×28 cm tank?

It's a nice basic layout, but you could have done a minimalistic V-shaped scape by angling the rock on the right to the right and then you could have planted it as an Iwagumi, as it looks a bit anyway, in the center and foreground but then still added some stems to the left and right back corners.

Hi and thanks for the video ! I heard/read that this type of soil isn't good for Neocaridina Davidi, apparently the way it affect water parameters arent good for them. Apparently it's better to have Caridina cantonensis with this soil. What's your opinion on that ? I am making my first ever planted tank with this type of soil and I want to had shrimps but I'm lost with all the informations about soils and how they affect parameters 😭

Hee Mark! Vraagje… ik heb sinds 3 dagen een probleem met mijn dennerle M400 co2 systeem. Het duurt ongeveer een uur, nadat het systeem aan gaat, voordat mijn co2 belletjes beginnen te komen. Ik had mijn CO2 gewoon op 1 bel per seconde ingesteld maar iedere dag moet ik ‘m weer bijstellen omdat het dan weer veel te langzaam gaat. Ervaring hiermee?

Het kan zijn dat er in de nacht water terug loopt in je CO2 slang. Dat water moet er dan in de ochtend weer uitgedrukt worden. Om dit op te lossen kun je een terugslagventiel dichter bij je diffuser plaatsen, of je CO2 systeem nog eerder aanzetten.

@@MJAquascaping er zit een terugslagventiel vlakbij de diffusor gemonteerd. het teruglopen van het water kan niet het probleem zijn, aangezien het systeem 2 weken probleemloos heeft gefunctioneerd (geen problemen met het teruggelopen water naar buiten persen. ongeveer 1 a 2 minuten nadat het magneetventiel werd ingeschakeld begonnen mijn belletjes te lopen, nu duurt dat dus tergend lang...) Werkdruk is 1 en cilinderdruk is 50 (gewoon de normale waarde waarop ik 'm op dag 1 heb ingesteld). Zit met mijn handen in 't haar.....

Mark idk if your going to answer me cause this post is 2 days ago, im going to rescape my dutch style and i have made some mistakes, since you have been acuascaping for years now and this is my 2nd year acuascaping i wanted to know your opinion, can you tell me the best layout for the plants listed below: Rotala rotundifolia Ludwigia palustris Pogostemon erectus Hydrophila polysperma rosanervig Rotala orang juice rotala hra Ar mini and monte carlo i was planning the ar mini is side by side with the monte carlo on the foreground 😁

Foreground: Just like you said, AR on the sides and MC as a carpet Midground: P. Erectus and Ludwigia palustris, maybe the Erectus on both sides and the palustris in the middle. Background: I would just mix all 3 types of rotala Also I would not use the polysperma, it's too big and too fast growing.
