Minecraft, but I added a biome for the glow squid. This is for the glow squid mob vote mob coming in Minecraft 1.17's caves and cliffs update. We've made the axolotl strong and made the warden scary, now it's time to bring more features and ideas for the glow squid to the game.

This is one of The best ways to make Glow Squid actually worthwhile. Make it's impact more significant by giving it it's own biome in caves, so that those of us who wanted something else won't feel pissed off everytime we, or I, see the squid. Update: Lumenite gear should be crafted with Lapis Lazuli, or Lumenite Gemstones Should be crafted like Netherite; with Lumenite Shards and Lapis Lazuli. It also Should allow for Level X enchantments. Hell, I've seen XI enchants, which is not possible with commands without looking bad.

Can't to argue since I completely agree with you, we had a chance to get a new boss that a lot of people have been whining about for years but then we get something else just because it's flies and then it turns out everyone ends up hating it we get a second chance to vote for a new challenge or a possible Farm mob although I wouldn't really consider the moobloom all that useful considering we already have ways to do what it does but you get the point instead of that we get a squid that glows and the worst part is that it doesn't actually glow.

The Lumen Beatles could drop Lumen spores that when crafted with a bundle could give us a Bag of Lumen Spores, They act like lingering splash potions, and when mobs make contact with it, they'll get confused that they'll sometimes attack their fellow mobs or inflict harm on themselves. The bag when used up returns to being a bundle, You could use to bag on the ground to attract the beatles so that you dont have to equip a light source.

The Warden isn't attracted to "sound", he's attracted to "vibration". There's a difference. One of the Developers actually confirmed this. Lumenite: I have a couple of ideas for Lumenite, you could use them for awesome, fantasy-style decorations and Builds. You could make a Magic Scepter that allows you to use your XP for Spells, since your XP is used in Enchant Tables to make Equipment better. Speaking of Enchant Tables, you could also use Lumenite to upgrade them, making them have higher Enchant Levels, but also making them a bit more expensive. Another idea for Lumenite could be upgrading Beacons, making their range larger and effects much more potent, it could also require an End Crystal, making it sorta endgame-ish. Most of all about this Super Beacon, is that it could also have a feature that prevents Mobs from spawning within its respective radius.

How about a “Modified Deep Ocean” biome which is essentially an ocean biome that is similar to a blue hole in real life. It goes down to bedrock, has Lazarus species (species that were previously thought to be extinct) the view distance is maximum 4 blocks, and at the bottom there are fossils of beasts from long ago...

Ideas for luminite crystal: Two-state lights A variations of the redstone lamp and torch that when activated by redstone switch from navy blue to violet, the navy blue will give a lesser light similar to soulfire while the violet light will be brighter then average so it can also be used as more effective torches Potion of luminecence When drunk or splashed onto a mob for 4/8 or 3/6 minutes the entity or player will glow, for luminecence I its light level 10 and for lumiecence II its a light level 15. The lumine beetle idea: Lumine shard- can be crafted into prismarine-like lumine blocks such as bricks, walls, etc. the lumine beetle shell with lumine shards and the turtle shell that glows under water and gives 10 seconds of water breathing when worn as a helmet Lumine Exoskeleton, crafted with a Glowing ink sac and 8 lumine shards. It gives no defence but it protects the user from 1 hit of ranged, explosive, or melee damage, this does not help in the case of fall damage, fire damage, or magic damage. It works like a totem of umdying but it has multiple uses and explodes in those beautiful glowing particles from the lumine beetle, it has a 8 second cool down indicated by a small sound cue when it recharges, it also inflicts slowness and nausea to mobs, this only effects near players if they are the ones attacking.

Drops for the beetle: 1-3 Glowing shell. Can be used on shields to make them glow, resolving the need to bring torches into combat when in the caves. Can also be crafted into carapace block which glows like sea lanterns.

The beetles could drop the particles that they give off when you hit them. You could then use the particles to illuminate other things and maybe make glowing potions.

Here’s an idea: using a bottle on a glowsquid gives you the bottle of ink, a key ingredient in 2 different potion types. The first potion would be called the potion of confusion. This potion bottle would not shatter or make particles but any player’s effected by it would have their health bars frozen at what it was when hit, essentially you can still heal, eat and gain experience but your HUD would still display the stats you had when you were hit, this could be used well in PVP because it could make a more cowardly player less likely to run away, although you would still recieve knock back from damage, you wouldn’t know how much damage you took or how much health you have left. The second potion you could get is the potion of bright, the potion of bright functions similarly to spectral arrows and actually use them as an ingredient. The difference between spectral arrows and the potion of bright is that when a player is effected mobs can spot you from farther away

The luminite crystals could work just like the amethyst crystals we're getting, allowing you to craft telescopes or more. Actually, what if all the crystals used to craft telescopes gave the telescope different effects? This would make them a lot more useful, and actually make you want to find the rare geodes that will generate in your world. The luminite crystals would probably work as a night vision telescope. The beetle is an interesting idea, but I think it should have a different use than scaring the warden. Honestly, I kind of hate the vines, as I feel like we're going to end up with so many variants of vines, and I think four is good place to stop. I find the coral interesting, as it doesn't die when above water, and I agree, would definitely look great against dark prismarine. Also, the Mojang developers said that the glowsquid will not give you the hypnosis effect! Although maybe just like with the beetles, you could get the effect from punching it. The kelp is cool, because I feel we don't enough underwater plant life variation (We have coral, but those aren't even technically plants) however I feel like it needs some sort of purpose to it. A good idea is one that has a place within both your other ideas and the already existing gameplay.

Maybe for the fish mobs, you can add an anglerfish and a guppy. The anglerfish would exclusively spawn under a specific y level. The guppies and glow squid would be attracted to the lights on its "horn".

What the bug should drop should drop an item to make a "Potion of Illumination" this potion can allow you to drink it and not any form of lighting. So you are the torch yourself. It can light up a dark cave as much as a torch or glow squid ink ( that can be up to you)

I think that the Luminite crystals once destroyed drop 9-3 Luminite shards which can be used for a Luminite torch which changes color randomly crafting: 1 Luminite shard 1 stick. Luminite armor plating which give plus 1 armor until hit also gives off a enchanted look which scares phantoms off : 8 Luminite shards and the armor piece you want to upgrade. Luminite glowblock like glowstone but changes color like the torch: 9 Luminite shards. (i know i am late)

The glowing particles are a wonderful atmospheric touch and the ambient music is super chill :3 It might be cool if the glowsquid ink could be dyed other colors for team based games or for graffiti/painting purposes (only removable by brewing a specific splash potion)

The Lumen Beetles could drop their antenna, which could be worn as an item. When you wear it you have a faster metabolism giving you speed and hunger. The antenna also resembles the Warden horns and could possibly turn the warden into a neutral mob, only aggravated when chests are opened or specific blocks are broken. Mojang has similar code in Piglins. Gold ores, gold armor, and chest aggravation, all are very similar to what I just described, making the feature very easy to include in the game.

Maybe it could drop a glowing type of food which when consumed gives the player the Glowing effect, which would also give it a PVP mechanic because in situations where your only food source is lumen flesh (or whatever it'll be called) the disadvantage is that you can be seen through walls. Another cool mechanic could be that when you bring in a light source that uses fire, like torches, campfires, candles, etc the beetles will become aggressive and attack you because it hurts them to be close to hot light sources. This would also make it harder to take them to the deepest biomes because you can't rely on torches or candles anymore, which as seen in the trailer, are apparently naturally generated there? Might mean you have to clear the way before being able to have them follow you, fixing how OP it really is as a warden deterrent.

I think it would be better if the lumen beetles could temporarily distract/confuse the warden and the more you have the longer the warden would be distracted/confused.

I think that the corals and glowing plants look kinda out of place in the biome because of the stone, so it would be cool if it spawned with tuff or had a dark green-black algae/moss that grows on stone on all sides of the block that’s exposed to air, probably with a different texture on the top and bottom of the block. I think that would give it a more natural feel and kinda keep it all united and whatnot :)

When they first showed the new caves they purposely lit up the Ores so we can see them. The video said that it wasn't a feature but was just so we can see the Ores. And I thought about a bug mob that lights up and flies to lead you towards Ores. Like how Dolphins work but for Ships. And it'd be cool as an aesthetic thing.

Maybe Lumen Armor can be a Tier over gold in a sort of side-armor line. It shares the property of getting enchantments easier and being faster with the cost of being less durable than the iron/diamond/netherite equivalent. And it gets the bonus of glowing

@Adrian JABELOSA That’s the point. It would be like a side armor progression. You have the more defensive and more durable side and then a more enchantable faster side. The set bonus of glowing also mirrors Netherite’s Knockback resistance. Lumen could essentially be to gold what diamond is to iron, an upgrade
