I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you for this lovely tutorial!! I am getting ready to quilt a 62" x 70" quilt on my domestic machine to save some money. I am not very good at with free motion quilting, as hard as I've tried and so I lean towards the straight lines!! And this was a wonderful find!! And not to mention that "quilting arm" that you showcased...OMG I had no idea what that little thingy was for all this time, what a game changer that is going to be for me!! So thanks again for this tutorial!! Happy Quilting!!

One thing I must say is that my walking foot guide moves. So I have to recheck the width often. If I don't the line distance between gets all wonky!

Sometimes, if your thread tension gets whacked, it can leave thread loops, even tiny ones, showing on the underside. If this is bad, you’d want to pick out the stitching and re-do it. But if it’s just a little, you might want to leave it, if it’s on the back... not so much on the front.

When you cross hatch quilt, do you always stitch on the back instead of the front? When you started this video you mentioned that the blue fabric was the back. Is it because you used white chalk and it would not have shown up on the front? Do you get better results by stitching on the back? I’m intrigued by this. Thx.

my machine has a walking foot but when it is attached I can't use the seam guide bar. I need to figure out a different way to have a guide bar attached to the machine, taped on the front and hanging down maybe (?)

I had this issue too until I realized there was a hole in the back of my walking foot for the seam guide. Does your walking foot have a small hole in the back of it?
