AR New Year Fireworks

I don’t even know what to say about this wild year. It’s been a hell of a ride. I think we can all agree, its final curtain is something to be celebrated. Clearly, there is still tons of stuff to fix in 2021, but I feel like a fresh start, even a symbolic one, will be helpful. The world needs a hot shower and a fresh set of sheets.

AR experiences haven’t existed before, so I struggle with how to accurately describe them. This piece is sort of a party popper meets countdown meets fireworks display. EXPERIENCE:
The piece begins with a countdown. Radiating blips shoot toward you. At the stroke of zero, a night sky explodes into existence. Party poppers float in the sky, waiting to be ignited. On tap, they explode into a firework display. If you get close to the stars, they get pulled into your gravitational field and begin to orbit around you indefinitely.
PROCESS:
I created this AR experience with a combination of Adobe Aero, Procreate, Adobe After Effects, Blender, Photoshop, and illustrator.
