Whenever I do the full qualifying I find myself with better understanding of where the limits of my car is and who I need to fight against.Also I found out that when skiping formation lap the tire temperatures are too low.

Charlie Pickworth just set it to full qualifying in gameplay settings on the main menus. It’s definitely worth it

Rohan Prakash for the game this year the formation lap actually has an influence on tyre temps. So if you skip the formation lap you will have cold tyres at the start and drop way down. The only caveat is that if you preselect in gameplay to not have a formation lap(if you just can’t be bothered at any time) then your tyres will be at normal temperature at the start. In general the formation lap actually matters this year but you can completely disable it to not feel the disadvantages of not doing it
