Don't understand why Europe can get the MR223A3 with chrome-lined barrel, updated hardware, and the RAL 8000 paintjob but the US civ market can even get an updated MR556. I don't think anyone really cares about the keymod system, we all just want the same reliability and quality of workmanship that comes witht the hk416. HK USA is really doing a disservice to their supporters in the States.

Come on HK! I'd love a civvy 416a5 because I use suppressors. I's like it in SBR. The MR series does nothing for me. Need short with adjustable gas and chrome lined barrel.

Still can’t believe what H&K did with this rifle. Ugly proprietary Keymod (HKey) handguard instead of the iconic quad rail. Troy Industries sights instead of H&K diopter sights. Then there’s the fact the barrel isn’t chrome-lined. And they want $3,000 for it!

I hear the actual barrel on SL8 is better, like a bull barrel... Anyways, I do not think I will buy Hk anymore. They seem like Kriss/Sphinx in Switzerland, developping nano-tagging technology for firearms registrations for civilian in Switzerland and Germany... They are worse than Smith&Wesson

key larfo Wow, fucking assholes. I'm telling you guys Hk doesn't like civilian firearm ownership, and thats a fact. I don't care how nice they seem sometimes, deep down at their core, they don't like it, and I can feel it. I can feel it through this video. As soon as he said the mr556 had no chrome lined barrel, I honestly wasn't even surprised. Now lets be honest, you don't exactly need chrome lined barrels, but its a nice plus and it'll help your barrel last longer, I'm more a black nitride guy but still it isn't a really big deal. But it is a big deal when the gun cost like 3 fucking grand, and its "military" (whatever that means) counter part has it. Like I'm tellin you guys, Hk does little to get at us. We will honestly never see G36s here either. The only way I could maybe MAYBE see it happen is if they decide to go ahead and replace all their G36s with hk416s across the board as like the standard rifle. Then we could potentially see Hk take them, make em compliant, and sell them over here, or they'd just get melted down, like they do in the shitty uk to their L85s, but those are kinda junk anyways I dont care about those. But still melting any guns for me is a no no, unless their like zip22 pistols lmao.

With all due respect, that MR556 is outdated and in no way comparable aesthetically or mechanically to the 416 A-5 on the left.

What BS, No regulator, no updated mag well, non chrome lined, Nobody on any forums likes the keymod rail. Everyone hates the heavy barrel, heavy price, ridiculous take-down system. Old Hardware!

HK doesn't know wtf to do. Simply put they are slow to produce product if any to the US market and their company is running aground. I wouldn't be surprised if they fire half their staff like SIG did with their MPX/MCX debacle.

I've wanted an HK 556 since I found out I could have one but now I'm having second thoughts. Can anyone recommend a viable alternative AR system or configuration? I was thinking of something by Daniel Defense or some similar manu. Thanks in Advance!

Looks like shit with key mod 416 delivered to agencies still have quad rail HK did it to make more profit they claim they did not but go see what a quad rail costs to buy as a part and then see what this handguard costs half as much so they raised priced and it costs them over 200 dollars less to make. As if a guy like me spending 3000 on a rifle would not know this. That’s there biggest fail they think their customers are idiots.
