The camera being below your paint baking box also puts us in a factory perspective looking up at finished parts moving along. The layout before assembly also has an ‘imagine this full size’ message. @ seriously, my creative friend… I lived my creative dream (not restoration tho) and fantasy was a huge creative process for me. I’ve seen great restoration on KZbin but most are physical recreations. You’re immersed so totally I think many of us see what you see even tho it’s not there. Never stop playing with your passion. This was my dads only Christmas gift as a kid in 1957. His younger brother got the blue farm truck. Seems to be awfully rare, I've been trying to find him another for quite a while. Fantastic restoration!

I bought a 57 cab but when I disassembled it that I found the cab not fit with the chassis, maybe the frame is year of 1961, and it’s also the first time I see there is a hose in the tank

Wow. I have one of these in very good condition that I got for Christmas when they were new. My dad drove an oil truck and I wanted a truck like dad drove. I couldn't read at the time, so I had no idea it said "gasoline" on it and not oil. Thanks for posting. Great memories.

Nice Rare Tonka. Was a little baffled why the frame was cut?....Then, remembered and thought to myself, I like the classic round fender look a little more than the square fender '58. Clean restore.

The frame was longer it couldn’t fix with the cab that I think the chassis wasn’t 57

Another great restoration job. But, have you ever considered taking a '60's or '70's muscle car and giving it a Resto-mod, or maybe going crazy and doing a Rat-rod? I think that either would be awesome.

Beautiful restoration...... As always! I was surprised when you put on a clear coat (I've never seen anybody do that with a toy restoration before), but I have to admit the results are fantastic. When you're restoring these toys, and you see how scuffed-up and dented they are, do you sometimes wonder about the magical adventures that the kids had playing with them? Does it maybe bring back some memories from your own childhood? (It does to me!)

You should powder coat the aluminum with a clear coat to prevent it from reoxidizing. Hella restoration!

A very well made restoration. But me personally liked the old patina on that truck. The patina gave a kind of personality and history to the toy, which is now lost forever. I would not touch the old paint, just doing repairs, which are invisible.
