People with a passion such as hers bestow a great beauty on to the world and to those who love them. For instance, one day when this lady has passed on, not only will her glorious garden continue to be enjoyed, but it’s a place where she can live on in the hearts and minds of those who love her. I’m sure they’ll always be able to ‘see her’ in her garden. My grandma’s happy place was pottering about in her greenhouse. The greenhouse has long since been torn down. But in my minds eye I can still see her there blissfully pruning away. My grandpa I still see sat at his desk in his work shop, chiselling and sanding his latest creation. My mother is thankfully still with us, but one day I will see her in her chair sewing a quilt or a cushion. When the time comes I’m sure my children will think of my husband forever playing his guitar and I wonder what for me? Drawing I expect. Drawing or painting. A passion is a gift.
