Arabesques: ballet tutorial (beginner level)

These are the 4 arabesques of the Vaganova method, plus simple pas de bourrées (without cou-de-pieds).
The 4th arabesque is the most difficult one to achieve as the twist must come from the waist whilst the arms remain in allongé and should continue the line of the shoulders. Often students don't move their waists but push one arm to the front and the other to the back.

I use music that I commissioned for my Holistic Ballet Class DVD series, the composer/pianist is Cyrus Garbrysch. I just cancelled this year's Berlin Ballet Retreat, it was a difficult decision to make as the retreat was fully booked and I was sad having to disappoint people.
