Alhamdulillah. I arrived at lesson fourteen. May Allah reward you for your hard work for the umma. Just to let you know, there are a couple of issues. You always translated alladhii and allatii with which when it's not 'aqil. (See timestamp 25:46 and 37:36) However, in English there is a difference between "that" and "which". "That" is used when the relative sentence is important and without it the sentence doesn't make sense. In both cases, you should have used "that". If you use "which", you just add a piece of information not really important, like it was in a bracket. As an example: "The book, which I finished reading, is on the table". In this case, "which" introduces a sentence that gives you additional information but it's not strictly necessary in the sentence. And in 37:36 you translated kutubun with pens... I wrote this not for showing off or diminishing your excellent work, but to show that I meditate on your work and I appreciate it thoroughly. Thank you again for the first part. Looking forward to start verbs!

Walikumusalaam, no course can give us a complete understanding of Qur'an. The Qur'an is the Book of Allah, it should be a life long companion for us, to read it, to understand it, to study it in detail, is a life long journey. InshaAllah these lessons will help you gain a better understanding of the Arabic, and they can only bee seen as a foundation of your study of Quran.

Apology for asking about minute details. At 47:57, "I did not help you?", Is the question mark a typo? I am trying to understand if this is a statement or a question like, "Did I not help you?". Waikum-us-salaam These videos only cover the essential grammar needed to begin to understand Quran. in Arabic. They are not designed to cover all grammar of Arabic Language. You should learn vocabulary from day one of your studies and not after grammar. As you will need the vocabulary to study the grammar rules

As salamu Alaykum 30:57 translate i saw those who went towards the mosque... why not i saw those who went to the mosque? 35:13 ulaaika translates as "those" but there is a ka at the end.. ? so is that part of the word or is the translation like Allah saying directly to us {as we read the words ourselves} as if He is speaking Directly to us as in You{all}, yes you all who believe and do righteous deeds for you all will be in Paradise.. Those... You!! Are my making sense? lol its late here and I'm very tired.. i will go back over the tables etc but just asking to make it more clear in my head. Barak Allahu Feek
@TheLanguageofQuran25 күн бұрын
Assalamualikum "I saw those who went towards the mosque" vs. "I saw those who went to the mosque": - both are fine - while the first one sounds better in English. "ulaaika" (أُولَٰئِكَ): is used for pointing to plural (m or f) - it is not pointing to you. The KA at the end is explained in lesson 12. It refers to the person being spoken to and not what is being pointed to.

At 45:00, Allah Subhanawatala is saying "Whether Male or Female", then later referring as "Wa-huwa Mu'minun" (male version only). Is there a grammar rule to explain why it did not complete the whole male part first and then the female part? In other words, what is the grammatical reason for not having additional "Wa-hiya Mu'minatun". Or, if only one gender is used, why is it "Wa-huwa Mu'minun" and not "Wa-hiya Mu'minatun"? Is this question somewhat advanced for this stage of learning? Of course, these questions are for Grammar understanding only. Anyone who even questions or doubts even one word of Allah Subhanawatala will be out of the fold of Islam. May Allah protect us and not make us like the Mutazillites... Aameen, I do not want to curb my child-like curiosity.... but will hold on for now inshaAllah, if this is advanced level question.
@TheLanguageofQuran2 жыл бұрын
In Arabic, there is no neutral gender, so we have a male and female version. However when you need to refer to both, then the masculine can be used (as a general rule). Also if you are unclear with any parts of Qur'an ALWAYS check how the scholars have translated or gave commentary, as grammar alone will not give us all the details we need.

Assalamu Alaykum, Remember you are doing this for the sake of Allah ﷻ. Do not try and learn everything at once, learn a lesson whilst taking notes and pausing the video so you do not miss anything. Revise over it 10 minutes later and then later that day. Then have a break, we are not trying to learn as fast as possible but to master so we can understand the Quran. Have the next day off and revision and rethink your previous lesson. Then the next day start a new lesson and repeat and do not forget to go back over previous lessons and do not leave them, keep revising so InShaAllah it goes into your long term memory. Even if it gets hard this is for Allah ﷻ sake, He ﷻ knows if you are struggling and it is not the matter of who learns the Quran the quickest but who is more sincere and only does it for Allah ﷻ. Don't forget to get a book and write down the major points that explain the focus of each section in the video and write down the examples. Don't also forget to go through the Quran to try and find the things you have been learn, Alhamdulilah. Jazak Allah Khayran Skip to this timestamp in the video 28:00 and listen.
