Welcome to this week's FEATURE FRIDAY ✌
This week we get to know about ARABIC music for the first time, Starting with Myriam Fares - Goumi. Followed by Rashed - Al-Majed - Walhan. We then ventured into the world of 3 Daqat - Abu Ft. Yousra. Faouzia - How It All Works Out blew us away, but unfortunately due to copyright issues we had to cut it out and to finish it all off we saw Mehad Hamad LIVE.
Overall, an amazing, fun podcast!👏
Thank you so much for the incredible suggestions! You guys rock! ♥♥♥♥

If you like MAMAMOO, You must check out Big Mama Killing Voice. They were the first members of YG Company CEO Yang Hyun-suk. Now they are professors of the Department of KPOP, nurturing many juniors. Since they disbanded, there have been many groups that homage Big Mama. Mamamoo is one of them. Recently, they've reunited and made a comeback with a new album.

Thank you so much guys ❤️ as an Arab (from Saudi Arabia) this is some general informations : - Arabic music have so much different types & different accents too (There are 25 countries in Asia & Africa that claim Arabic as an official language). - in general, Arab States of the Gulf (Khaleeji) songs is chill, very melodical & passionate so the concerts seems a little bit serious lol, however Egyptian music is more fun & make me dance (in my opinion). - I guess Arabic songs usually all about the lyrics, instruments & melodies, not the music video, visuals & story lines... etc. - I guess we're a little bit similar to Latin (for the music, melodies & instruments). - The most famous Arabic musical instruments : Oud, Qanun, Ney, Daf (Efra was interested about it at the final video lol) also violin, saxophone & piano are very common in Arabic music. + I suggest you guys to check out some Fus'haa "Standard Arabic - without accent" Songs such as : Faia Younan - ohebbou yadayka Nour Khan - ghorabaa Kalamesque - Mughrama/I Want to Spend (Arabic Cover) ft. Yazan & Natalie + fun fact : we (Arab people) could pronounce every single sound you may or may not think about it, that's what makes my language so special for me ❤️

20:30 Rashid Al-Majid is the OG 💘 He's from my country (Saudi Arabia) & he's very popular all around Arab countries, his artistic journey started at the age of 15 & his first public album went to market late 1984! + even if I'm not into Arabic music that much, his songs are different man... ugh. Lyrics : Times get dark and I look up towards the sky, and I gaze through its stars, maybe I could find you. Neither have you known about the longing that's struck me, nor the sky's space would be enough for you. Oh, how I'm in love with you. I prayed to the one who created you, my dearest, that half of the love that's in my heart strikes you, and if your love is crippling, I'm fine with that, I'm fine with that since I couldn't find an as-precious lover. I'm yearning, I'm yearning, and if I tried to hide it, my gleaming eyes will reveal it I miss all of you. I'd die for you and your flaws, until my heart and veins are filled with yearning, and the ground couldn't hold the painful longing. If your absence is a dream, wake me up and I'm well again, and if there's someone else, how could he make you forget a love that no other lover has ever loved a lover before, and the sign that his heart is seeking you to this day? Do you know that despite how I'm choking on your absence? I have a hope that you'd come back to me and I'd come back to your world. No one in this year fits you, and don't you look for anyone who's in love with you like I am.

Gulf accents are very rough, that's why ut sounds so soulful in music, we speak our letters in very rough ways, I honestly been told that by Russian, just imagine that 😂😂😂 we also rarely translate our music because we believe we are the only ones who will hear it lol. Thanks alot for the reaction 🥲🥲💕 hi from the UAE 🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🙌🏼🙌🏼 the last guy is from UAE and is an icon in my country and close countries. Respect to all arabic music. @chaizan9733
@chaizan9733 3 жыл бұрын
@@ayouspace4780 they were not freaking out anyways, but they're right to some extent, if you're checking out Arabic music for the first time, or any genre of music for that matter, it's a given that you would choose the icons of the genre. And this is not against the Herrera siblings or anything, they just take what they're recommended, so I wouldn't see the point in blaming them for this or being angry like someone did in the comments. But it is just natural to expect some big names and then get surprised if you don't find them in a video. Like doing a western pop special and not including a Madonna or Beyonce song. Again, this is just to give an example, I'm sure we're all more than thrilled to see this special from them and it was a great video regardless. But I just wanted to reply to your remark "there's more to Arabic music than Nancy ajram"

Just Google it lmao and just because we speak Darija (which isn't even understandable to Arabs from the Middle East), doesn't make us Arabs. Wallah just look things up from reliable sources. We don't share the same dna. However, during their conquest in North Africa, they brought some of their cultural influences and religious beliefs with them. Do you get what I am trying to explain to you? We are not Arabs and never will be, but yes they had some type of influence in our culture today.

OMG yes ❤️❤️ More arabic songs please.. You can try reacting to it depending on the genre since there a LOT of them.. Well, for Faouzia which is pronounced Fa-wo-ziya (Efra pronounced it right btw) she is Moroccan, not half moroccan half canadian, she may have citizenship though since she lives there.. she's been around for quite some time, began on tiktok where you can find a LOT of her vocal capability while covering some songs.. such an underrated artist.. I would recommend her song "tears of gold stripped version" and "minefields feat john legend", and for fun you may enjoy her on ELLE playing game association (she was given a word and 10 seconds to sing a song that has that word in it, just a quick information for Efra in case he asks what it is which he probably would 😂) I'm pretty sure you'll like it

regarding the song "Goumi" by Myriam Fares even tho she is Lebanese she is singing it with the GCC accent aka "khaleeji" and this is where i am from. and Goumi means get up as in get up and dance and shake your body lol, as for the video it totally makes no sense as it represents an African tribe, vibe and culture which is not the case for the gcc area

You may like another egyptian song by *Hamza Namira* : *Dary ya alby* (pronounced "Dary ya al-bee") "alby" means "my heart" and "dary ya alby" means something like "oh my heart would you shield/ hide your pain" the MV has captions in english so you'll get to understand the lyrics.. The song came out after Egypt went through a really rough time, and some lives were lost.. so even though the singer does not directly speak about it and makes it look like a longing song for our past selves, our loved ones, our homes (for the people who had to emigrate from their countries) etc but it speaks a lot to egyptians and I'm sure my egyptian brothers and sisters might give you more insight on what the song really means to them.. since they're the ones who had to go through those circumstances.. Nonetheless, people from other countries such as Iraq, syria and palestine..etc related to this song too.. Hamza is a pretty well known and respected artist btw, and has other great songs too with great melodies, a beautiful voice and amazing lyrics However, this one became viral when it came out.. and he gained more popularity too Btw, if you ever wonder, the instruments mainly used in this song are Guitars and Oud (you can see the singer playing "el Oud" in the MV) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGTVpnicgbiWpK8

I used to live in the Arab world (Jordan) I stayed there for 10 years, during my stay I learned the language both the Standard version and some other dialects, I picked up a taste for the different versions of Arabic music as well, I do consider my self an arab to some extent I know a lot about their culture traditions and way of thinking, I love all of it except for some things one of which is that there’s a degree of racism that I think is accepted among arabs and they don’t think twice about it especially against african and south asian people, I only bring this up because Meryam Fares appeared in black face in her video and most Arabs didn’t find that problematic. I hope my Arab brethren would one day become aware of how offensive they can be and try to do something about it.

i see it more classism than racism, a very light skinned blue eyed red haired Syrian professional would get lesser salary than a very dark skinned African American. A Filipino designer & Indian businessman would be treated better than Yemeni Arabs (regardless their skin some very light some very dark) hard labours. Not all Arabs are classist/rcist, most are cool & treat everyone kindly regardless. For ones who are, what Id like to do just quoting them these: If they were Muslims Qur'an 49: 13 _"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you."_ Prophet Mohammed pbuh last sermon _"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black, nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action."_ If they were Christians Mark 12:31 _'"The second most important command is this: Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself. These two commands are the most important."_ Atheists Dawkins (supposedly) _"Everything & everyone is only carbon."_

There is actually no g (like in the word get) sound in Arabic. Instead they just use a j sounding letter named jeem that uses the original j sound. Also, in Arabic, there are many letters and sounds that non Arabic speakers find difficult to sound.
