In this lesson, we learn a very important lesson specially before the beginning of Ramadan when we will in shaa Allah start praying Tarawih again. We discuss the cases when you should correct the recitation of the Imam and in what way.
In the preparation of this lesson, we mainly used the sources from Ahl As-Sunnah, using fatwas from Shaikh ibn Uthaimin and others,

As an Imam now, I had a story when I was reading Surat Ya-Sin during Taraweeh when I was young. I was just saying one ayat then I took a break for 3 seconds because I was running out of breath. Straight away, somebody in the back shouts "'ALA SIRATIM MUSTAQIIM!" It scared me and I forgot the rest of the Surat so I had to go into ruku. I had to read from another Surat hesitantly.

Just to mention a couple of points to bring what the Brother said home. 1. This is especially an issue in Teraweeh. Everyone is understandably tired because we're staying up for long hours of the night. So 15 or 20 people correcting the Imam is kind of annoying. 2. Most likely the Imam already has huffad who have memorized the Qur'an and know it way better than many of these Brothers who are making the correction, though may Allah reward them for their efforts, of course. I say this from experience, because the Imam of my local Masjid raised the same issue last Ramadan.

Yeah, there’s usually someone who’s behind the imam who corrects and usually knows what to correct. In our Masjid we have two people who switch during Tahajud

@@sm112 learning arabic as a whole is hard, but when reading alone, its easy. I learned to read in this channel in just 3 episodes(just checked its actually 4). If you want to "learn" arabic then I suggest visit more than one channel like those who teaches grammar.

The Prophet, peace and blessings bs upon him, would say before prayer to the people behind him, "ليلني منكم أولوا الأحلام والنهى", meaning, "let those of endurance and sound mind stand behind me". This ensures that behind the Imam is someone who would be wise and well-intentioned in the way of correction, and also that, should the Imam be unable to continue the prayer, that the person behind him would be able to smoothly replace him and continue, rather than having someone who was perhaps not paying attention or who wouldn't be able to continue the recitation.

Thanks for this good video, love the exemple in the end 👌, in the third type of mistake we can add if the imam mix riwayat (except if change meaning), like : - Al baqarah V10 : warsh ( ** وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ ** يُكَذِّبُونَ ) instead of ( ** وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ ** يَكْذِبُونَ ) hafs - Qaf V30 : warsh ( يَوْمَ ** يَقُولُ ** لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍۢ ) instead if ( يَوْمَ ** نَقُولُ ** لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍۢ ) hafs

This is a good point. But the Imam should also avoid mixing Qiraat or Riwayat in prayer to avoid confusion altogether. It's better left for parties or celebrations or occasions. One great example I just heard was: الزُجاجةُ كأنّها كوكبٌ دِرّيءٌ تَوَقَّدَ من شجرة if someone doesn't know this is a different Riwayah, they might correct the Imam, which is an impressive riwayah, but needless to show off nonetheless.
