[ARACDE/MAME] Football Champ - Longplay (1cc - 29 Goals Scored) [Tubers High Score Challenge]

Longplay / Speedrun for "FOOTBALL CHAMP" an arcade coin-op played in Mame!
This is for the "Tubers High Score Challenge" - and it was my pick this time! So I chose my favourite arcade coin-op as a kid (and something a little bit different to the usual shmups we get in the competition!) - Football Champ! (Also released with slight variations as Euro Football Champ and Hat Trick Hero). This game was everywhere back in 1990 to 1992 - from arcades, computer stores, chip shops, pubs, etc in the UK. And I loved it, and was one of the most popular and beloved arcade soccer/football games with lots of conversions under different names to home computers and consoles.
It's years since I played it, and I've been unable to replicate my 17-0 win (!! • [ARCADE/MAME] Football... ) and that was the last time I played the game - how will I be nearly 10 years later with a week's practice? Let's find out! (Default settings)
No commentary or review here, just me simply playing the game and 1cc'ing it!
BONUS! On our live stream runs on Twitch ( / xyphoe ) we able to replicate the extreme rare and hard to pull off SUPER SHOT! (or SUPER SHOOT as it rather comically calls it in game!). You (1) have to have scored at least 1 goal, (2) be drawing or losing in the last 30 seconds of the match and (3) do a high pass to your captain in a very specific part of the pitch. Yea! A special mention has to be given for the excellent sound effects and little jingles of music - although some of the speech didn't survive well being translated in Japan!

Had this in my local Arcade it's a great 2 player game. My 6 year old cracks up laughing when the ref falls over and also when he misses the goal and knocks over the photographer. 🤣

@@Xyphoe not just kids that find it funny lol, also cracks me up playing aswell just listen to how many times players bump into the pitch side flags celebrating a goal. Gets me every time 🤣

Oh wow, me too Henri! It was in my local computer shop for years, I went every lunch time in the holidays and played it! I'm sure the store owners hated me because all they heard was "GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL" over and over! xD

Remember playing Super Sidekicks in the arcade. Also Virtua Striker on DC. Mario Strikers on GC is also very similar. These arcade footy titles are great fun

Yea Super Sidekicks sort of took over from Football Champ as the footy game in shops, chippies and arcades for a while. Then footy games kinda died out around Virtua Striker arriving. That was allright too, just a bit slow though.

@@Xyphoe That's where I played Super Sidekicks....... the chippie. Home football and it was Sensi Soccer, Fifa and ISS/Pro Evo. The first Adidas Power Soccer on PS1 is basic but fun as it's very arcade

How do you do the power shots/backflip kicks/headers? I can’t seem to get the hang of it and they always shoot slow on mine lol. I’m just trying to figure out how to do those stronger hits like you do.
