This is my Arai Corsair-X Nakasuga-2 Frost helmet. It is the replica helmet for the Japanese rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga. Nakasuga is a 9-time JSB1000 champion, a 4-time Suzuka 8-Hour winner, and current Yamaha MotoGP test rider.
Now how is it that Arai makes a sicker helmet for the Yamaha test rider, than it does the factory racer (Maverick Vinales)? Because, as I have said before, Arai always makes the best looking helmet graphics for its Japanese riders. Period. This is proof once again.
Now this helmet graphic is dope AF. It’s hard to showcase just how much the is graphic pops because it doesn’t have super bright colors. Instead this helmet uses the 👀 in the front on the helmet, along with a highly detailed design throughout. The paint in this lid is immaculate. The level of nuance in this helmet is just amazing. Lifting the top vents you see the outline of the eyes, it just looks the business.
I really love the colors used in this helmet. Shades of blue, purple, gold, and black really go together well. There is enough contrast between the colors to show the layers of detail and graphics. The “Frost” aka matte finish on this helmet are super choice as well.
The Arai Corsair-X is the top of the line helmet from Arai. It’s a helmet that is made for the track, but has the ventilation and comfort for everyday use. It is quite literally one of, if not the best, all-around motorcycle helmet you can buy. Works great at the track, and you can ride it all day on a long cruise if you wanted.
The best part about this helmet, is not many people will be wearing it. Because Katsuyuki Nakasuga isn’t a household name, people may steer away from this graphic. And that’s really a mistake/shame. This graphic isn’t like the typical graphics you usually see. This one stands out from the crowd, and is truly unique. The colors on this are gorgeous in the flesh.
If you are in the market for a motorcycle helmet, you can’t go wrong with a Arai Corsair-X. But do yourself a favor, and don’t get some bland/boring ass color. Try something new. Be the peacock to stand apart from the pigeons. This Nakasuga-2 graphic does just that.
As always, stay fresh.
