I've been wearing this helmet over the past riding season which included a 3500 mile cross country trek and it has fulfilled all of Anthony's comments on this review. The great fit allowed me to comfortably wear it over several hundred mile days without head fatigue. The extra padding on the sides allows for a good fit but still able to install a comm system. I highly recommend it!

A helmet is one of the most important purchases when it comes to moto gear and this review helped seal the deal on which one to get! After thousands of miles of riding with this helmet, I was reassured to trust the video breakdowns from Revzilla. Thanks

Thanks to your review I've purchased this helmet from Revzilla and couldn't be more satisfied. I own several different brands but the overall feel and quality always draws me back to wearing this. Primary helmet in my collection and about to pull the trigger on the Scarab.Keep up the good work & cheers from Montreal,Quebec.

I purchased this helmet after watching your review and I couldn't be happier. The RX-Q fits great and flows a ton of air, I would definitely recommend this helmet.

I saw in another video that a "hyper-ridge" allows the helmet to come off easier. Doesn't that mean it's less safe? I thought helmets are supposed to fit tight.

I've tried several helmets including HJC and Shoei, and the RX-Q from Arai is definitely the best helmet I've owned. It's extremely comfortable and has lasted on trips 2,000 miles+ and also on the track. It's rated as very safe and it's amazingly quiet - everything you'd ever want in one helmet, not to mention it looks sharp too! The vents are all in just the right places.

I've been wearing an RX-Q over the past 7 months and it has been great. The fit is spot on for a slightly oval head and the padding is all day comfortable. I've worn it on several hundred mile trips in the Texas heat and the ventilation is more than adequate. The only complaint I can level is that a head-wind can cause an uncomfortable vibration in the helmet, but this has only happened twice over more than 8000 miles of riding.

Great review. This helmet, or any other Arai for that matter, is an absolute must if you ride a naked bike. I ride a speed triple and the comfort and aerodynamics of the Arai helmets are a godsend for that upright, in the wind riding position.

@m3g1 I think the Arai Vector 2 is probably the better option for street/sport riding on an R6.

Yes, the Quantum in Europe is the RX-Q here in the US. And you are correct, they are given difference names due to the Country's safety certification. ~Ali
@RevZilla13 жыл бұрын
@smashy122 Not particularly. They are both pretty similar in head-shape, however, the RX-Q looks and feels a bit smaller. That gives it the advantage in regards to aero-dynamics.

I bought this helmet a year ago from Revzilla, and couldn't be happier. The helmet's head shape is a bit oval for my liking, but the option to get more cheek pads is there. I bought a mirror shield with this helmet, and it's great from dawn till dusk in most conditions, but the shields will fog up too quickly for my liking. I did have an accident in this helmet- I crashed head-first (think superman) into a car at 40mph, and the helmet did a great job! I was wearing a leatt and recomend 1 as well
@RevZilla12 жыл бұрын
It has an updated shell like the Corsair. It has the same head shape as Quantum 2, but has different feel due to new cheek pads. New cheek pads come down further and cradle the head better, and are made of a different density material.
@iamInsanitywolf12 жыл бұрын
Helmet is super light and comfortable. The airflow is amazing, with all the vents open it is almost as if there is a barrier of air between your head and the helmet. The eye port is also huge, you have to strain your eyes left to right to see the edge of the eye port. Downside is the shield change mechanism, which isn't awful, but isn't great. On the upside there is a pinlock shield available which will probably be a better bet to change from clear to tinted then swapping the entire shield.

As i watch more of these reviews you guys have i'm becoming more confident about buying online through revzilla. I just have a couple of questions though, Is there any price difference for buying these 2010 helmets in 2012 and do you guys recommend i should wait for the 2013 line to come in? My other question is, If i buy things like a jacket, gloves, a helmet and a few t-shirts all in one transaction will i get the same discounts as buying one at a time? Thanks

Thanks for your videos. They are so imformative and detailed. It helped me decide which helmet was right for me. And your advice on sizing was perfect. When I first got my RX-Q I thought maybe I ordered a size too small. But I took the cheek pads out and put the helmet on. It fit snug but not tight. Now that I've been wearing the helmet for awhile it really fits like a glove.
@RevZilla13 жыл бұрын
@tufmandan Yes, the RX-Q helmet works quite well for the upright riding position whereas the Vector 2 suits a sportier posture.
@RevZilla12 жыл бұрын
The Arai RX-Q has not changed since 2010. with the exceptions of some graphics. You might be able to find an older graphic that can save you a few dollars over a new graphic option. Our TeamZilla cash will help you save money in the long run by continuing to shop with us, but we do not offer discounts on products. ~Ali

Thanks a lot man , im between the rxq and crossair v , im not taking my helmet to the track just for touring , I live in cyprus its very hot in summer and a cool helmet is the most important for me , which you recommend ?
@RevZilla11 жыл бұрын
Arai helmets are a bit trickier than most. Give our Gear Geeks a call and they can walk you through step by step. For starters, you can make sure the two black levers under the side pods are in the down position before you put the shield back in place. ~Ali
@tufmandan13 жыл бұрын
I was just curious i am going to be getting an FZ6 do you think this will work for the upright riding position?
@RevZilla11 жыл бұрын
I would recommend the RX-Q over the Corsair V for your riding scenario. The venting scheme on the Corsair V really works best on the track or at very high speeds. I think for touring and a wider range of speeds, the venting on the RX-Q is better. One other helmet to look at for excellent venting is the new Shoei GT Air. ~Ali

10,000 km on it, good helmet, planning to by RF-1200 this coming season, just wondering what are the fit differences ?! and do you send Arai or Shoei to Canada?
@RevZilla10 жыл бұрын
We've found the RX-Q to be slightly rounder than the RF-1200. The RF-1200 has an intermediate to slightly narrow headshape. Unfortunately, Shoei and Arai prohibit us from shipping their products internationally. However, give our Gear Geeks a call at 1-877-792-9455 to discuss more shipping options. -Hi-Viz Brian

Hey can i get some advice. Im stuck between a shoei rf1200, gt-ari and the arai RXQ. Dont really know how to compare an arai to a shoei. Btw im a street rider on a zx10r, dont really go to the track anymore
@RevZilla8 жыл бұрын
+Z33NY I personally wear an Arai RX-Q and also fit the RF-1200 and GT-Air, so I can speak to them quite well. Both Arai and Shoei are known to be two of the best helmet brands on the market. The RX-Q has an intermediate- to slightly round-oval fit and is ideal for upright riding positions, but you could use it for 3/4 riding on a ZX-10R. Arai's primary focus is shell safety, not noise reduction, so the RX-Q is a bit noisy. The RF-1200 and GT-Air are true intermediate oval in fit, which means they fit most of the American market. These two Shoei helmets are also known to be pretty quiet too, which is a plus. If you really want an internal sun-visor, then the GT-Air is the way to go. If that's not a priority though, the RF-1200 is a bit lighter and has better ventilation. That's why when it comes time to replace my RX-Q, I'll probably get an RF-1200. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

Trying to decide between this helmet and the Shoei RF-1200. With the current closeout pricing, the Arai is $60 cheaper. Returning to riding after a long break. I'm most likely going to be riding either a Thruxton or Street Cup, so a 3/4 to upright position.
@RevZilla8 жыл бұрын
I currently wear an RX-Q and find it to be a good helmet. However, it's a bit loud. When it comes time to replace the RX-Q, I will likely get the RF-1200, as it's also well-made but tends to be quieter than the Arai. -DrewZilla

The Q in RX-Q stands for Quantum, so it's the general successor and has the closest fit to the Quantum and Quantum II. The Defiant also is similar to the Quantum's round oval shape. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/arai-rx-q-helmets *www.revzilla.com/arai-defiant-helmets

Evidently as of July 2015, there are *no* XS Diamond Grey color in the USA. I'm soooo bummed. This helmet fits me like a glove!! I don't particularly love the other color options & the graphic options on the RX-Q are limited. Can you suggest any other options of helmet to fit this shape??? I know it's not apples to apples, but Shoei models or others that might work? Thanks guys.
@RevZilla9 жыл бұрын
B.J. Johnston The Arai Defiant has a similar but ever-so-slightly rounder fit, and the Aluminum Silver is close in color. For Shoei, you may be able to fit the slightly narrower RF-1200, and the Anthracite is a close color. With both helmets, extra head liners and cheek pads are available in thicker and thinner sizes for a really precise fit. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/arai-defiant-helmet *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shoei-rf-1200-helmet-solid

@kasushi whichever fits yer head better :) the rf1100 has great venting and is pretty quiet plus its nice n sleek with how they did the vents it was nice n stable for me as well its a bit more egg shaped if u look at the opening the chin area tapers more than the rxq the rxq is an intermediate oval, but feels much more roomier side to side than the rf1100 also, the rf1100 uses a lot of individual shell sizes so if u get a small, but think mebbe you need more room, u cant put medium pads in it

Can you make a comparison video between Arai vector 2 and the rx q ?
@RevZilla8 жыл бұрын
We don't really do comparison videos, but here are the main differences. The Vector 2 is slightly narrower in fit around the crown of the head, has the single forehead vent instead of the 2 on the RX-Q, and the Vector 2's shell is just slightly heavier than the RX-Q's shell. Both helmets use the same SAI face shield. -DrewZilla
