*Aral Sea 40 years later* LOL these villagers built ports and boats in the middle of the *Aral Desert*

It wasn't a desert when they built the ports & boats.

the definition of government fuck up, i live in Kazakhstan and its breaking my heart how my country almost entirely lost aral sea, and nothing is done to this day to at least try and do something about it
@Hendway Жыл бұрын
Do not worry too much. Kazakhstan is trying to do something about it. It's Uzbekistan that needs convincing.

@@Hendway I said im from Kazakstan to point out that I as a citizen can confirm my government just steal all money that was issued to solve this problem, if not for that, Kazakstan long ago could made a plan to solve the issue and started to do its part, it didn't do so and last news is from 2014, Uzbekistan is at fault too and didn't do anything but it doesn't mean kazakstan can just blame them for everything when they do absolutely nothing

This also happened in Southeast Asia.. China built many dams in the upper reaches of the Mekong River for their agriculture, thus making the river dry..

God damn it Soviets! They took us away Rebirth Island and know, Uzbeks will do nothing about it. Not only we lost the 4th largest lake in the world, but we lost a big part of our childhood. Thank god Kazakhstan is still kinda trying to save Northern Aral sea

Isn't the North Aral Sea growing?
@adityajha464810 ай бұрын
No it isn't exactly growing. The Uzbek government constructed a dam near Aral city which proved efficient conservation of water to a certain extent but overall once the western remains of Aral sea dries up, the evaporation and the Serbian winds eventually will cause the North Aral sea to dry up as well. Within 20-30 years, any single trace of which was once Aral sea will vanish.

Serbian winds, probably from Serbia. Siberia is the vast eastern part of Russia that is normally snowy

what would have saved this lake is giant shade trees or structures so the sun didnt evaporate it.
