The cresecendo at 5:45 has got to be the most heart-rending, tear-jerking and joyous moment in the entire orchestral repertoire, and makes the peace that follows all the more blissful. I just wish his works would be played more often!

I really love the music of this classic ballet….the first time I heard the “Love Theme,” it nearly made my heart stop beating in parts from sheer beauty. Now when I hear it, I always see Ekaterina Maximova and Vladimir Vasiliev dancing in my mind’s eye, so passionate and heartbreaking.

I wish I could dance to the crescendo (5:45)in this magnificent piece. Alas, I'm too old to do so, but I feel a sense of melancholia combined with a peaceful bliss that is indescribable. Music like this embraces the soul and stirs our inner self. Life without such music is merely existence!
