This Leitner-Poma Alpha double replaced a 1978 Yan double in 2020, with identical speed and capacity. This might seem confusing at first, but Arapahoe Basin had a valid reason - they wanted to preserve the character of Pali's terrain by avoiding increased capacity. By keeping the same capacity, the Pali experience is the same as it was back in 1978 - very similar to the Castlerock double at Sugarbush. Pallavicini at A-Basin features expert and extreme terrain, including several mogul-filled double-black diamond runs and gullies that require a hike to exit. The top of Pali is also known as the "center of the universe" by locals. The lift is 3512 feet long, with a vertical rise of 1325 feet. 141 chairs and 12 towers are on the line. The speed in this recording is 500 fpm.
