Aratura con Landini TestaCalda L35/L45 - Extreme Plowing with Old Landini Hot Bulb Head Tractors!

I have filmed five Landini TestaCalda (Old Landini Hot Bulb Head) Tractors plowing at the 2019 Festa della Campagna at Cazzano di Maddalena di Budrio in the country near Bologna, Italy. These are the L35 models (7.200cc engine) and L45 (9.503cc engine) built in the 50s and 60s, equipped with a single-cylinder and a large flywheel with powers of 35hp and 45hp at 720rpm. Extremely robust and reliable, they were among the most popular tractors of that period in Italy. The mechanics are so proper that as you can see, they still work without problems.
The plowing ground was wet due to the heavy rains that characterised the autumn, and in some scenes, the tractors effort tend to get up and get stuck in the muddy. That being said, what a show to see them in action!
In questo video ho ripreso cinque trattori Landini Testa Calda in aratura presso la Festa della Campagna 2019 a Cazzano di Maddalena di Budrio (Bo). Si tratta dei modelli L35 (motore 7.200cc) ed L45 (motore 9.503cc) costruiti negli anni 50 e 60, dotati di un solo cilindro e di un grosso volano con potenze di 35cv e 45 cv e 720 giri/min. Estremamente robusti ed affidabili, sono stati tra i trattori più popolari di quel periodo in Italia. Talmente buona la meccanica che come potete vedere funzionano ancora senza problemi.
Il terreno dell'aratura era bagnato per via delle ingenti piogge che hanno caratterizzato l'autunno e in alcune scene si nota chiaramente la fatica e lo sforzo dei mezzi che tendono ad alzarsi e a rimanere bloccati nella terra fangosa. Detto questo, che spettacolo vederli in azione!

With the front wheels being lifted off the ground, the weight of the tractor gets transferred to the rear wheels, giving them more grip and enabling them to continue. Still, being able to plow that deep in muddy conditions without getting stuck is really impressive!

While I was filming these tractors, you're right; I kept looking at the ground and wondered if they would be able to keep ploughing. These are difficult conditions even for a modern tractor with double or triple the power, but this old Landini mechanics seems unstoppable.

@@Italiansupercarvideo I can see for sure that they are using differential lock before starting to plough. But of course, using the tractors' diff lock isn't a surefire solution for dealing with muddy terrain.

In your witty thinking, even, in my opinion, there is a lot of truth. These vintage ploughs are beautiful because you can see real pieces of motoring history, but on the other hand, you get a ploughing field for free, this is not bad for the ground's owner 😀👍

Ground seems rather heavy going there. These seem to rev rather faster than a Lanz Bulldog. I suppose it's because they're Italian.

@@francescotinti3872 Ho scoperto la festa della campagna solo nel 2019, sono rimasto davvero colpito di quanto sia bello tutto l'insieme, aratura d'epoca, sfilata di trattori, esposizione nel campetto della chiesa, genuina atmosfera di gente paesana, davvero complimenti.

Hahaha, to my point of view it was enough not to go too low in the ground with the plough, especially if the soil is muddy like this where they make even more effort. As you could see at the end of the video, the field was ploughed, and it was spectacular to see them wheelings
