So, at 11:30, several triggers were put onto the stack that should not have been due to some confusion between things leaving play due to state based actions and sacrificing. The "Legend Rule" does not sacrifice the excess permanents but simply moves them to the graveyard instead. CR 704.5j If a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same name, that player chooses one of them, and the rest are put into their owners’ graveyards. This is called the “legend rule.”

Good catch! Goes to show that I don't know all the rules as well as I think I do. I guess I always associated putting them into the yard as sacrificing them. I probably got it mixed up because they're still considered dying for some triggers.

Yeah, MASSIVE misplay on the encored Kels there, like the pinned comment said... and it's even worse because those extra cards might've been crucial for Wes to win. Unless the word "sacrifice" is expressly written on a cost or effect (even if only on reminder text), there's no sacrifice. Going to the graveyard because of "legend rule" is no different than going to the graveyard from having 0 or less toughness: they just go. No sacrifice, nothing. Therefore, no Kels triggers.

Ah Goreclaw, my first every build commander deck. Based on the commander's quarters decklist as a starting point. And what i noticed, is that even when i upgraded the deck with even fancier cards, it played exactly the same and was always a threat. The 20 euro version and my 50 euro version were just as good. I have made it into a Neyith fighting deck now though. But man i won so many games with it.

i heavily disagree. you only really need a few encore activations to take over a game, instead of including mediocre or below average creatures, you can include ways to get the better targets more reliably. edit: that said, my araumi deck has 30 creatures, but if i would want to make it stronger, creatures would go.

@@burnsboy101 you'd cut a lot of them for cantrips/carddraw and tutors. Increasing the amount of cards you see (or even target pick out of your deck) by a lot, ensuring you find the few good targets that are close to game enders and having a much more durable araumi independent deck otherwise. you not knowing how to build a deck does not make my statement stupid :)

As someone who has a Syr Gwyn deck that has evolved many times since I built it, my main take away is that she is a really mediocre knight tribal deck and a much more powerful equipment deck. I only run a handful of key knights like Puresteel Paladin in my current version as most of the equipment ends up on my commander either way and having non-knight equipment support cards like Stoneforge Mystic, new Akiri, and Reyav ends up a much better use of the slots. If you play too many knights it ends up like this game, a few knights that don't really do anything and no equipment.
@tttyyy949

New akiri does better job at being syr gwyn than syr gwyn and wyleth does a better job at being voltron. Syr Gwyn is terrible for a 6 mana commander.

Let araumi alive and be seriously punished on next turn. It accours very often around here, and that's why my friends always target her as soon as possible. An idea is put some haste engines and small etb creatures to active Araumi at same turn she entered to make some value like mill, draw or grave recursion.

Really like the Japanese context with "Ara-Umi" from the other commenter! "Aroomi" bothers me to my core. It's not "Fleshbag Marooder". It's not "Ooramancer". It's not "spaghetti sooce". Why would it be "Aroomi"? 🙃

Not gona lie like I really enjoy watching your vids sometimes, I really loved your earlier ones... but for so so long it feels like every game there is someone who keeps a stink hand and sits there the whole game not doing all that much. Like I really want to enjoy the vids and I know it can be a bit hard to get consistency in a game like magic, but for so long it feels like most games are basically a 3 player pod. I really want this to come across as constructive criticism though cause I love the channel and you guys, just its a bit of a feel bad seeing one person basically not playing.
@DarkEinherjar
@DarkEinherjar 3 жыл бұрын
It's not right to scrap a whole game because one player decided to keep a risky hand and paid the price. It's not everyone else's fault. Sometimes it's inevitable: there will always be someone who pushes their luck or have mulliganed down to five cards before giving up; there will always be someone who keeps doing "draw, land, go" because the deck is giving them nothing but lands... bad luck. It happens. A LOT. I feel bad for them too, but that's how Magic games, especially casual ones, really are. Not every game can be a perfect game where everyone gets to have fun.
