genuinely, first shot is one of the great cricketing moments of all time. fastest bowler on earth, steaming in vs a legend trying to salvage some pride in a lost cause, and on the verge of retirement. the flick over square leg for six is just breath-taking, it takes a whole new level of skill to get an 87mph full ball for six over square leg. the second shot is just pure brutality.

Sangakara cannot be compared with Tendulkar but this man is. If he was bit more patient at the beginning of his career he could have had an average of 50. He is such a gifted batsman Sanga and Mahela no where near though numbers say otherwise

Sorry but I think Kallis for me is overrated- he plays for himself not for the team. I respect his consistency. But he never had the class of a Gilchrist or De Silva- in that he couldn't take the game away from the opposition and destroy attacks. I don't think either Kallis or Sangakkara belong in the top 5.

one should remember that aravinda started the career when sri lanka didn't have professional cricket. it's all came with winning world cup. he would have had a better record if he played after 1994 where sri lankan cricket pickup their energy. but without him sri lanka wouldn't win world cup and all things won't be possible

He did not have the mental discipline, much like Mark Waugh and Carl Hooper - two more languid, delightful stroke-makers. Players like those cannot be manufactured by any coaching manual or method. They are simply, once in a generation.
