Challenges and troubles are inevitable for any initiatives, especially noble ones, because that is how God or the Universe is building muscles and strength for ultimate success. Clarity of thought, positive mindset, hard-work, resilience, discipline, networking, and integrity are often considered as the ingredients for success. But it is not what you think! While these qualities definitely play a role, the foundation for success lies on something else.
That is what we discover when we go through the case of the construction of the totally free-of-cost, super specialty hospital at Puttaparthi in 1991. While all the people involved intimately in it definitely possessed all the so-called ingredients for success, they were a worried lot. On the other hand, the only being who was blissfully calm was Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba! In fact, He announced the timeline for the completion of construction from ground zero within a year!

Sairam. I was privileged to be a member of the 4 man team appointed by Swami in mid-May 1991 to take over charge of the construction and ensure completion of the project by the due date. Swami appointed my father Brigadier Bose to be head of the team.

Sairam. The equipment from the Netherlands mentioned would be for the Angio Cath Lab. Philips of Holland was given a turnkey assignment to set up this lab in its entirety. However since the equipment was too bulky to be taken up by the staircase, it was decided to keep an opening in the external wall on the first floor & the equipment was lifted by crane and inserted into the designated space. The wall was constructed subsequently.
