really useful video even though I'm in a 4Runner :) doing a similar ARB Twin + MORE mount. The 4Runner mount also has room included for the 1-gal air tank, so I'm putting that in too!

I'm also interested in having power to the compressor regardless of whether the ignition is on. Question: since the switch is always "hot" aren't you slowly draining the battery? You spliced into to harness near the compressor. Does that eliminate the need to route the switch through any fuses?

It came with fuses; there are two 20 amp fuses included on their wiring harness. I spliced into one of these lines. Because it’s a manual switch I’m not sure if there would be any drain; it’s something I will look into. That being said, I don’t drive my Jeep around town…between trail runs it sits comfortably in my garage. I’ve not noticed any drainage issues on my battery. But I will definitely do some measuring to see if there is drain.

Ok so the short answer is that YES there will be a small amount of draw. It's been too cold for me to pull out the voltmeter and check exactly how much. It won't be much. I have no intentions of changing how I wired it, becuase I think having the ignition on for airing up is silly and a PIA. Precautions will need to be taken if parking your vehicle for long periods of time. I will check the exact draw in the next couple weeks and post back here.

Ok I pulled out the multimeter. All of my accessories are connected directory to the battery, so I checked ‘em all. I don’t care if this is wrong, it’s how I wired it up :) The lights and the compressor have 0 parasitic draw. My winch has -4.63 and I have a USB power adapter to power chassis mounted cameras that draws -2.6. So my total parasitic draw from accessories is quite low, but it does add to the standard draw from the ECM, radio, etc. hope this answers your question.

To hot for compressor components like o rings .....imagine in a 120 F. degree weather the temp. under the hood will probably double
@JustEmptyEveryPocket9 ай бұрын
Non issue for me. The mountains are never 120f. I’m happy when it’s 65 during the day. If you’re in the desert sure; mount it under your seat; but this setup worked perfectly for me last summer.

@@JustEmptyEveryPocket Thanks!! I will consider your second option(under the seat) i have already seen videos about how to do it!!

I've also seen it done in the rear storage container behind the bench seat...and mounted to the inside of the tailgate. I'm installing air lockers and didn't want the noise inside the cab. I might be a bit of a pwincess :)
