Arber is so young as a dman people need to cut him some slack. He has more potential than he's actually projected but being undervalued is something he's dealt with throughout his progression into the NHL. Once this team is playoff bound Arber will be a huge piece for the grind it is to chase down the cup.

Amazing how many people doubt and criticize Arber. People were panicked saying Marty wanted him gone and he wouldn't get a contract, then he did. Good coaches want thier players to be the best they can and teach them discipline. They also don't like facing power plays constantly. The D core can't be judged for a few more seasons, Arber included. He has tons to learn but I believe he will keep defying the odds and prove his critics wrong. Those who say Florian is too slow may be right, but never doubt a Xhehkaj.

Call me crazy, but Kapanen 100% deserves more of a opening night roster spot than Josh Roy. Put Kapanen with Newhook and Dach, and i won’t be surprised if that would be the best lime on the team.

He does deserve a spot. I highly suggest keeping him in Montreal.

Not crazy!!! i agree 100%, only gonna get better easily, no experience from NHL

yo boys... The great Deke and Shay.... happy u 2 great guys have a podcast together... looking forward to see the name u will choose... and what angle u choose.... why not the impact of unknows (outside the stats...) on players... that has an impact on the game.... could be personality's, psychology, socially, leadership, the off ice strength....family member influence... it could be a scout camp in their teen loll lets say ( i am making up this part).... maybe the impact of psychology professionals had on a player ( hopefully an interview) then the impact of spirituality on another and then an event ( death, a fight...) then.... For now i would call it something like.... "Habs Unknowns"

Thank You Shayne. I have been saying that about Anderson for years. I even speculated that maybe he needs glasses. How can you miss the net year after year like he does!!! Great show Drew and Shayne.

I'm sick of people bashing Xhekaj. I hate when people call him Wifi. It's ignorant. Noone in Montreal calls him that. The coach calls him Jacko, and he's called the Sherrif.

Well...the fact is, it was Brendan Gallagher who first called him Wifi.

Guhle, Arber and Baron are maturing and will be regulars. Hutson and Matheson are, as is Savard til he is traded. When will he be traded? & who will get his chair? Logan’s a rightie. Reinbacher is too, but is done til next year. Guhle needs to play on his left D side, that is natural position, where they need him. Future left D-Guhle, Arber, Matheson, Right D-Baron, Hutson, Logan,…# 7-8 Struble, Engstrom.

Good talk boys, I completely feel your frustration, Shayne! Demidov could be helping them win more and it seems they're toying with him, out of spite. It's too bad, hopefully he gets another chance soon, it's getting ridiculous.

Kapanen has already burned his first season. He doesn't have a 9 game cap like other rookies.

Like everyone, super stoked to watch a new season begin. First off, my concerns...the Habs need to have a good start to the season if they want to have a chance of competing for a playoff spot and watching those pre-season games...ooof!!!...I realize it's only pre-season but watching the same issues that hurt the Habs all of last season continue to plague this team ie. injuries, taking a lot of penalties especially early in the game, and their specialty teams (both PP and PK) struggling. The heat is no longer on Burrows...welcome MSL to being on the hot seat! As for the positives, I am confident this team will eventually find their stride and I hope they can maintain it consistently when they go on that run. I am looking forward to seeing a healthy Dach, watching The Hutson Show, and altho my expectations are low...Oliver Kapanen has really impressed me. Quick note on Demidov...I think we should stop analyzing every single game he plays and IMHO creating more drama and being a tad overreactive. But I do appreciate the passionate opinions. Now bring on the Maple Leafs and lets get this season started! Go Habs Go!

About Arber-Pare, a response was called for, that is fair. Was it called for from Arber to go after a much smaller player who averages 30 PIM's a year over his 4 pro seasons? If you think that was fair, just be prepared, because someday Caufield or Hutson is gonna catch someone with something illegal, and your argument is that means it is open season for Reaves or Rempe or anyone else to go after him from behind. Think back to the Moore Bertuzzi incident, what people forget is that Moore actually fought the right guy already(Matt Cooke) in his only ever NHL fight, that is the proper response, turning down the much bigger Bertuzzi was justified. There is a right way to do things, Arber chose the wrong way, just accept that means open season on any Montreal player, skilled or otherwise, that does anything that hints at potentially injuring an opponent

I have absolutely NOTHING against coach Marty I really liked him as a player but I do not think he is a capable coach so THAT would be my first cut.I wouldn't keep waiting and waiting until we are in another rebuild this nonsense has been going on for way too long. It is a bit tougher to get rid of the managers I am not sold on their ability yet I would give them more time. However trying to speed up a rebuild by trading away first round picks for other teams throw away players does NOT look good. This group of players are 100% capable of playing better they just need the right guidance how to THINK the game differently because all the fixes are VERY easy. Now I am not going to say that even if the players play correctly that we have a group capable of winning the cup but playing smarter hockey gives them a better chance.
