Shredded potato fried to a crispy golden brown.
These were taken off the menu recently and just brought back this week for a limited time! I had never tried these before filming this review so they were NEW TO ME!

I'm 59. Potato Cakes were on the menu when I was a little kid. It was those or fries, I preferred the cakes. It fits well on a roast beef or a beef & cheddar. So glad they're back.

I'm 51 and have been eating them my entire life. When they were gone a few months ago, I about had a stroke. They were brought back about a month later, but they're only back for a "limited time". Devastating thought. Lol. I told them removing them is the biggest mistake they've ever made. 😅 Dipped in Arby's sauce is 🤌

HALLELUJAH! It was a dark day in America when they stopped serving these. They are the elixir of the potato gods, a fast food delicacy, an exquisite fried journey into heaven. For me, they are forever a 100 rating. I may or may not be going to Arby's every day this month.

@@toyascoop3957 I know right. It is one of the few things they got right other than their green beans with ham and coleslaw. KFCs seasoned fries are pretty good, but the Wedges were Culinary Crack. Mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits aren't bad either. I go to the KFC on Harmond (I think) in Canton, Ohio and order a large green beans sometimes solo but long for the days of the Wedges.

Those potato cakes are a classic! I had a senior moment a few months ago and tried to order them, forgetting they had been gone for years. The young lady looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. She'd never heard of them. Anyway, I'm glad they're back! 🙂

I'm 62 years old. In high school When I go to lunch then it was Arby's just so I could get potato cakes. I love them. Have to dip it on Arby's sauce or horsey sauce. I think it's been more than a year. I'm so glad they're bringing it back for a limited time. Love on them keep them. They are delicious. Never smell fish. Thank God!!

Even though it felt like I was the only person in the entire state who ordered the potato cakes over curly fries. I was always the guy who held up the drive thru line because I was willing to wait 5 minutes for them to cook up some potato cakes. I was very bummed out when they removed them from the menu. I know i'm going to be stopping by Arby's more often to take advantage of their return. I highly recommend getting just a basic roast beef or beef and cheddar and adding a potato cake to them, just like adding a hashbrown to a mcdonald's breakfast sandwich.

Potato cakes are so great, I used to get them in the mid 80's and they were a replacement for the fries, you never ordered those together and you could get the roast beef sandwiches 5 for $5

I was annoyed when they discontinued potato cakes. Couldn’t stand the curly fries! When my daughter and I went out for lunch yesterday and we decided to go to Arby’s. I was so happy to see the potato cakes back again! I’m thrilled! NO! Please don’t put the sauces on them! I always ask for salt packets.

I have always enjoyed the Arby's potato cakes. Was so bummed when they took them away. Glad they're back. On a side note, why is it you can get onion strings on a sandwich at Arby's, but they don't sell them as a side item? 😮‍💨I wish more chains offered onion strings or rings, like Burger King.

I remember when Arby's had the roast beef cooking on a rotisserie. They would slice it fresh and put it on a buttered bun. Have that with a potato cake and a Jamocha shake. Unreal good.

Man I missed these. My favorite side from Arby’s hands down, it’s been a couple of years ago since they discontinued them and I was PISSED !!! Used to get a B&C with large PCakes and extra red ranch. Sad they are a limited time tbh. Used to dip them in the horsysauce

Yeah honestly for me I never could get into curly fry sometimes because they don't agree with my stomach with all the seasoning but when I found out about the potato cakes years ago I started ordering them love them all the time I enjoy hash browns so obviously these being a thicker hash brown just made him even better and I was upset when they got rid of them it's been about 3 years and I guess the biggest thing is that it was unique to Arby's and their replacement the crinkly cut fries are not bad but they're not potato kings

I remember we had just about the same shaped potato cakes in school lunches. I liked those and when Arby’s came to town they had potato cakes and I missed having them from school they were my goto. Then they took them away for those stupid crinkle cut fry’s that you can get at other places. The potato cakes were only at Arby’s unless some smaller places have them but Arby’s were good with meals.

"Da Cakes" have been around forever and for us it was usually that but occasionally the Homestyle fries. Never the Curly Fries or Krinkle Krap things though. Some Arby's do still serve breakfast like the one here in Austintown, Ohio. We used to even stop just to order nothing but a bunch of large orders of Potato Cakes as a snack. Our group often was composed of toddlers to Centenarians. I'll be 58 in November and Arby's Potato Cakes are some of my earliest food memories. Lately we might get a sandwich at Arby's but then hit up Rally's for some of their Rally Fries. Back in the day pre-pandemic we might get a sandwich somewhere else and go to Arby's for "Da Cakes"

Arby’s sold sweet potato fries a couple of years ago for a limited time. They were so good. They need to bring them back along with the onion petals and do away with the crinkle cut fries. Also the potato cakes are the best. Beats Nasty greasy McDonalds hash browns any day.

Arby's Potato Cakes are a top lifetime food favorite of mine. You could even say I've always been crazy about them. Was so sad when they eliminated them. Was so excited about the return even if they are limited time. I went twice & left when told they were not available yet. 2 days ago was pleased they had arrived & purchased the 60th Birthday Meal which includes 3 Potato Cakes. As another reviewer mentioned they were very good but not browned enough like the they were before . They needed to be left in the fryer about 1 minute longer. You could see on the back of each one they were not fully browned crispy & also the inside needed a little longer. But I enjoyed them despite the minor issues & appreciate the return. Hopefully due to customer request will be back on the permanent menu. I like that their Potato Cakes are not greasy or salty. McDonald's goes overboard with the salt shaker why many times I request no salt there.

Always my side of choice. Get the beef and cheddar and douse it w Horsey Sauce and then smother the potato cakes with Arby’s sauce. Perfect combo. Better than the overrated Curley fries in my opinion- it’s what you are used to…

You have dip them in the Red Ranch which is Catalina dressing. The only way to go. You don't get fries its the potato cakes that make the meal.

They don't season them at all...so I always salt n pepper them. I also have never ordered them as my side UNLESS they are going directly on the sandwich, much as my hash browns always go on my sausage egg mcmuffin...always. From my understanding the cakes were around forever but disappeared 2-3 years ago when Arbys decided that they were primarily a breakfast item...so they've only been in what few breakfast stores they have since then

I stopped going to Arby's because they stopped serving potato cakes. You eat them with a roast beef sandwich w/Arbys sause and horseradish sauce. When you eat that together the taste is awesome! Arby's needs to bring potato cakes forever.

Sorry but the potato cakes are the best thing on the Arby's menu, you use to have your choice of curly fries or potato cakes. Potato cakes were dropped when crinkle fries were added in 2021, you can get crinkle fries a lot of places. I stopped going to Arby's for almost 2 years from 2021 till mid 2023 bc they were took them off the menu. I used to stop at Arbys just for the potato cakes only. Potato cakes is not a breakfast item at Arby's, it was a potato item to go along with your Arby's Roast Beef sandwich or etc. They had been on the menu since the mid to late 80's, I've never bought their crinkle fries & very rarely the curly fries. I usually take my roast beef sandwiches home & either air fry or deep fry a hashbrown to make my meal complete. O, the potato cakes are better with Horsey sauce instead of ketchup!

These are so good, such a great alternative to French fries. These are meant to be eaten with a sandwich- just like McDs hash browns go WITH a breakfast sandwich. These are great with their roast beef sandwich with horsey sauce. Yo E you got this wrong. In general your opinions are spot on so u get a pass.
