I 100% agree. I grew up eating Wendy's in the 80s and the burgers were juicy and delicious, fast forward to the present time and the burgers are so dry you have to coat them with ketchup just to swallow them. Don't get me started on the horrible customer service either.

The McDonald's Filet o Fish is in my go to fish sandwich. It is a simple sandwich. Tartar sauce is good and the small piece of cheese is just enough and the Bun is amazing. I love when they tell me to pull forward they have to make fresh fillets.

Not sure where you are taste tasting these fish sandwiches, but McDonald's has gone down hill here in Arizona. The portions are extremely small, nothing like what your video shows. Plus you now only get ½ slice of cheese on them, plus their price went up. McDonald's is no longer my go-to fast food place for a fish sandwich.

The Weinerschnitzel's is basically an east coast style Sea Dog. Although, the Cod fillet hangs off both side of the bun. The secret is to put cole slaw on top!

We had perfectly prepared singles a few weeks ago, which always feels like a gift. When I tried Popeye's flounder, I found it more fishy tasting in not a good way, but this was a few years ago. Great video. I’m also a super critic of fish sandwiches in all the fast food joints and I also had the McD’s double FileO Fish back in 1998, made on request, (and a friend who worked there), but I didn’t like it at all and it kind of made me feel sick. However, the normal FileO Fish has been my favorite fast food item since I was a kid. And when it’s made to order, it has no challengers! All the other fast food joints are mainly hit and miss and I always request it be made to order and the FileO Fish has been my lifetime winner. Around 1996 they tried to change it in California. It was bigger and had a bigger bun but I protested it like crazy!! No other place has had the fish sandwich tasting good for more than a few weeks after its introduction. Thanks for your video👍🏾

I always think about McDonalds fish sandwiches around Lent. When they were introduced in the 1965 era, and they were unbelievably delicious. Frankly, they were addictive. Now it depends upon the location as franchises delivery is uneven to say the least. I will try the double. Hopefully I can recapture the past.

The Arbys one on the Hawaiian bun is my favorite. The true secret is to dip it in their 'red ranch' sauce mmm, perfect. Oddly it doesn't work to get it on the sandwich first, it kinda just melts and disappears for some reason.

I work out all the time and am looking for more protein for my dollar. Breaded sandwiches like fish and Chicken just do not deliver the protein that burgers do. I love the big fish sandwich at Captain D's and the double filet o fish at McDonalds. The double quarter pounder however delivers 22 more grams of protein than the double fish. Also 2X the calcium because you get 2 full pieces of cheese. A double burger is what i usually get. They give you about 50 grams of protein.

Like you, I have tried a lot of fish sandwiches, but I still come back to McDonald's Filet O'Fish (especially with their Lent special of buy one get the second for $1. #1 (and at several different McD's) they are always hot. #2 the half slice of cheese is the perfect amount to add to the flavor but not overpower the fish. Haven't tried the double (not even sure they are available in my area), but McD's is my go to in Lent.

I'm glad you did this review .True as one of the other viewers said the "Whopper" was originally significantly larger 😮 Someone told me recently why the McDonald's fish filled itself is so good . They have a special source for their fish supplier and supposedly that supplier does not supply to anyone other than McDonald's. I don't remember who and where the source is but I was well impressed when I was told about it .

I could be wrong since I was like 4 or 5 when I first had a Fillet-O-Fish in the mid-1970s, but I believe they were the first fast food chain to introduce a fish sandwich. My mom would get them for us on Fridays during Lent (since seafood on Fridays is the 'Lenten loophole' LOL). I am fairly certain it was a seasonal item at the time (Lenten season), like their Shamrock Shake.
