I just bought the beta isolated. Really great jacket. The best jacket I’ve ever bought. I was searching like a video like yours, no chance. The app an the homepage from Arc’teryx is bad. So expansive and high quality but I wish to get much more information. Thank you for this video. Greetings from 🇩🇪

Awesome! Drop back in and tell us more about your experience once you've used the jacket for a couple of months. It will be super helpful to other people.

Helpful video. Just bought the beta insulated on sale. Cheers

Crazy what a good deal they have that on for this Black Friday sale. Drop feedback here once you use it a few times. Would love to hear what you think.

Is this insulated good for Toronto winters? I need an Arc’teryx jacket good for this. Average here is -8 to -15 C using it mainly for city wear and everyday use walking Other Arc’teryx alternatives would be great as well.

I think it is a great Toronto city jacket because of the warmth and windproof shell. You may find you want a sweater or fleece when it is -11c or colder.

That’s for the video man. You made my decision between the two jackets easier

Thanks, @sirtang87! We're glad it helped. If you pick one up, drop a reply here and give more first-hand experience. There is nothing more valuable than feedback from people using the gear.

I’m curious what would be warmer a beta AR with an Adam LT heavyweight underneath or this jacket?
@OutdoorCrunchАй бұрын
This is a great question. We're interested to hear thoughts from others here as well. It would be easier to answer if Arc'teryx would provide specifics on the body mapping of the insulation. The Atom HW uses Coreloft 120, 80, and 60. The Beta Insulated uses Coreloft 80 and 65. One critical difference is that the Beta Insulated has a center back length of 78.5cm in the medium while the Atom HW is only 72cm long. That difference in length is going to be felt in cold weather. Ultimately we'd estimate that the Beta Insulated is going to be warmer and breathe slightly better. The Atom HW breathes well for a midlayer, but still has a DWR (so you'd have two layers of DWR). That said, the versatility of the Atom HW + Beta AR would be sweet. We have these and will get some real world experience at a few different temperatures to report back.

As far as I can tell based on specs seems to be better off getting the beta AR then some sort of insulation layer. I had been thinking beta down for myself but looked further and as far as I can tell a patagonia down sweater hoody will perform better than the down in the beta down. Will be much more versatile also, I am not 100% certain I’ve come to the correct conclusion but definitely leaning this way. Helps that I have a dsh and an atom ar

Is the delta hoody make a good mid-layer under both?
@OutdoorCrunchАй бұрын
Great question. The Delta fleece would work great under either jacket. I always recommend non-hooded as a mid-layer just becuase it is more comfortable without the second hood. That said, I still sometimes buy a hooded version of a midlayer if I plan to use it on its own enough. Either way, the Delta is a good choice for extra warmth.

Do any of them pack into themselves ( packable ) ? Thanks
@OutdoorCrunchАй бұрын
Great question. Short answer is no. Neither includes a pocket with double zippers for packing. I am able to roll both into their hoods. If I cinch down both hood adjusters it's decent, but they won't stay that way without a compression strap around them.

@ Went with the synthetic insulated. Scheels has them for $540 currently although I think they only have XL‘s left in black.
@shadowdance466625 күн бұрын
Excellent jackets. But hardly cost effective for the price imo. Anyone can do better with a little poking in the new and used sections. There’s a lot out there. I do agree though that the synthetic is a better fit that close to the elements
@OutdoorCrunch24 күн бұрын
Totally agree that there are lots of options that offer warmth and weather protection at many different price points.
