Thanks for the video and the review! It made me determined to buy the same color, as this color is no longer available new in Canada, so I bought a near new one, and it's been around 0 F in Calgary for the past few days, and I don't feel very cold when I'm outside for short periods of time in this dress plus an ATOM. Looking forward to more videos, thank you!

Bought the Beta insulated (synthetic) recently. Already have and layering system and Alpha SV as a Hardshell, thought I will use the Beta insulated at the resort only. This Jacket is unreal and now it's always in my split board backpack. Insulated hood and fleece lined pocket are a big upgrade from a mid layer and a hardshell. Hopefully it will last long and won't encounter durability issue. Love this jacket would recommend to anyone if you got the dough for it.

Hey! 1) love the handle 2) really awesome KZbin channel you have! 3) I love it when we get comments from people who have actually used the gear! Agreed with you on the fleece lined pockets being such a big win. The jacket does what it is supposed to and I am happy with that! Have a wonderful season of splitboarding up there!

Heck yea! This things is warm AF. It is the warmest deadbird jacket I have tested. There may be something warmer, but I am not 100% sure. I can contact them to see. But this thing has been great.

Probably more than I'll spend, but I wish they had some better colors. That would definitely help. Not a big fan of any they offer, the green one you have is probably the best. Great review though.

Hey friend! Thanks for the nice comment. I agree, most of us can get buy with a down jacket and hardshell. That is the system I am used too. But.... when I got to see how nice things can be with everything integrated and those dang nice fleece lined pockets (come on other companies!!!) I was impressed. But, again, I think most of us can function very well with our current systems. But if price is not a concern - this is a fantastic option. Thanks for being a subscriber and keep the chat going. I LOVE hearing from you and the audience. What is your current set up and what do you like about it? Anything you would like to improve on? Anything you would change? Anything we can help out with? ( we do have meetings with like 50 brands next month, so we can relay your message onto them) Always looking to improve! Take Care!

@@Engearment Go to setup: Intraknit base layer, ghost whisperer, Mountain Hardwear Minimizer. As much as I want to say Patagonia is my favorite brand, I always go back to Mountain Hardwear. That being said, I wish Mountain Hardwear would make a thicker 3 layer with pit zips. I know they are going for lightweight but I wouldn't mind a few extra ounces for something more durable with the ability to dump heat.

I have a friend in Search and Rescue. She has an Arcteryx jacket that all the seems are letting go. The zipper stitching in particular is bad. She hasn't used it much so all the degrading was done in a go bag and hanger in her closet. She contacted the company and they told her it had "timed out", and the materials weren't intended to last more than 5 years. I guess they used iron on seems or something and decaying thread (must be a green thing). I get it, a warranty is a warranty, but to have materials break down simply for time is ridiculous.

Great video! Is this jacket packable? Does it fit into a built in sac?
@Engearment10 ай бұрын
Thank you! It is packable, but not as packable as other down jackets out there. It has about twice the insulation and the Gore-Tex shell does not compress. I can get it into a backpack, but it does not seem to stuff into a pocket (at least that I have seen or been able to demonstrate) Take care!

I've been using an Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket in Black, that I bought in 2019. Decided to buy the new Beta Down Insulated Jacket today but in RED. Better to be seen in dark Winter nights.

What do you think the lowest temperature this would be good for if you were just wearing a t-shirt underneath?
@Engearment9 ай бұрын

@@Engearment Thanks for the great review! Just going off the previous question, have you had a chance to try the beta insulated (synthetic)? If so, what temp do you think would be the lowest with a t-shirt for the synthetic version? Cheers

Do you think a therme parka 2022 version is warmer than the beta down? I was thinking of upgrading to the beta down simply for the pit zips when I get too hot.
@Engearment10 ай бұрын
Hey friend! Not sure I fully understand the question. I would love to help out though. If I am good at guessing, I think you are asking if you should upgrade from the previous version to the new down version for the pit zips. I would say if you run hot or do active things, the pit zips are nice. If packability and warmth to weight are important, then yes as well. If static use and warmth is paramount, then probably not. Hope that helps!

Do you think that’s ok for -30/35 celsius?
@Engearment11 ай бұрын
To clarify, you mean to ask if this is good for -7 to -31F. If so, I would say that is pretty dang extreme! I suppose if you used this in WITH another down jacket with 4-8oz of down, you might be OK. But those are some pretty sever temps. I honestly do not mess with much below -15F. That is my cut off point. My Splitboard skins dont work anymore. Water is frozen. Vodka is at optimal temp LOL. But, I would be using this jacket with a legit baselayer, midlayer and down jacket. You bet.

we just had an insane arctic blast in Canada. Bought the Beta insulated (synthetic) jacket recently. Temp were pretty much between -30/-35 Celsius. went for a splitboard mission (slack country so it's more efficent and less time consuming). Took the chairlift with my base layer, proton FL and the Beta insulated and totally fine. @@hanwagu9967. It's brutal for the feet but my core was more than happy with this layering set up.
