I want to get this jacket but they don’t have it available at my local arcteryx store. I’m a large in everything at Rand it feels perfectly, I like the close body feeling, but I want to obviously layer under a shell. Should I stick with the L or go to the XL?

I would look on the websites sizing guide for the jacket. It will tell you the chest sizing and such. Then I’d measure yourself and compare that to the sizes and see which one has a little wiggle room for wearing layers. I’m 5ft 8in/5ft 9in in height, weigh around 170-175 and my chest is around 42in I think, and as seen in the video, I was able to layer myself decently under the jacket, being that the jacket was a size large. You could order the jacket, don’t remove the tags, try some layers on underneath and worst case scenario you can return it for a different size. I’d make sure to read the return policy as well and how long you have to return the jacket back to them before ordering. I ordered mine through their official website and I’d imagine they accept returns, as basically any company does these days, but just check to be sure. Hope this helps!

I'm about 5'8 and 175, what size should I get? For me, the fit in your vid is a bit too big for me but im scared that medium wont fit, what do u think?

I personally would still try the large. I am at around 175 at the moment and if I went smaller/to a medium, it would be uncomfortable (just my opinion). If you have an Arc’Teryx store near you, maybe go in and ask to try on the jacket. I’m sorry I don’t have an exact answer for you

I like large and extra large for shirts, but for jackets I prefer a size large. And since it’s a shell jacket, a large is thin you could say. You can also look at Arc’teryx’s website on this jacket and their sizing and measure yourself. I was able to layer in a size large in this jacket and my chest size is around 40-42 inches, my waist is basically a 32-34. I am also about 5ft 8in tall. I hope this all helps in ordering. But I’d recommend a size large because it is a little baggy and perfect for layering. So based on what you’re saying and in conparison to me, I stay true to saying you should order a large. If not, I’d imagine you can always return it and get a different size
