Reliable hand protection is a key element in the success and safety of outdoor objectives - without the full use of his hands, the ice climber increases his risk dramatically. In the same vein, military and law enforcement personnel have a critical need for reliable function and dexterity to accomplish their objectives.
By treating gloves as a tool, with performance needs equivalent to any other piece of equipment, we approached designing a glove for Arc’teryx LEAF with the aim to create the best possible product.
Touch sensor capability was identified as the primary objective. To best serve glove users, the sensor pads are integrated into the design of the index finger, ensuring the security and longevity of its function.
To achieve exceptional dexterity, the Assault Glove has a unique ergonomic pattern, minimal seams and seam allowances. This reduces interference and enhances tactile sensibility. For the most versatile number of applications, flame resistant materials were chosen to ensure safety. Carefully patterned to reduce stress points and reinforced in high wear areas, the glove is intended for long term use.
The Assault Glove FR ensures safety, longevity and efficiency. It is an essential tool, developed to perform as a precision instrument.

+adrian huysman Except environmental organizations don't buy thousand upon thousand of dollars of high end gear on a annual basis. Plenty of their day to day gear is more than sufficient for enviromental people.

it's something I gave a lot more thought to afterwards. Its a huge bid, I see why they took the deal, plus they really are the best for the job. Just hard to merge the values of each costumer base

+adrian huysman I cant remember but I think they've been doing their LE stuff probably just as long as their Alpine gear. The two (from a business stand point) had been the core of their revenue I would say. I know the Vancouver PD are supplied with gear as well (as Arcteryx is a Vancouver company). They work with various businesses and ventures as well. Their KZbin has plenty of videos outlining alpine trips and mountaineering.

i heard too that Patagonia has been doing down layers for the navy for a while and I kinda lightened up when I thought about the individuals wearing it. If I had an outdoor company it would be a difficult choice to make, so it is hard to fault them, now that I gave it more thought
