Arcade cabinet painted and fired up!

I finally got my multicade cabinet painted and taken for a spin! I think it turned out awesome. A few characters from some of my childhood favorites ended up mixed together on the artwork like Goro from Mortal Combat, Robocop and a xenomorph. But not all of them so, i might have to build another one soon. Music: bensound.com

The art is class, man. To be honest, the worst part about it is the Pandora Panel. If you built your own (which isn't hard) this would be top tier. The cabinet itself is sick though.

Great job… from start to finish…. I am currently overseas for a few years… but when I get back to the states I plan on making my “bar top” arcade… I made a template out of these 2 big pieces of cardboard…. and then I got hired overseas so had to pause the project…. but yeah man, awesome job on the arcade cabinet

btw next time, I would like to see more details and not that much speeding up the video. There are people (or maybe just me) out there that wouldn't mind watching an hour long video with you building and painting. I've build four by now, and I'm still making mistakes and learning, so it's always nice to see how others are doing it.

They are working fine. I had to adjust a joystick recently because down wasn't working. It works fine now. I still live playing it and can't wait to build another. I'll probably get a Pandora's box and buy nicer sticks and buttons. I don't ever take the console anywhere.

I'm building a very similar cabinet for a friend, but it wont look anywhere near as cool as yours! My question is how are you getting the tv to turn on? Does yours have a "hard on/off" switch that you just leave "on" ? Havent seen any newer model TVs with a push button on/off lately.

Hey, good question. Im not sure exactly. My tv at home turns on automatically when I turn on my ps4. The one in the cabinet is actually a gaming monitor. I got it because it was cheaper than a tv. I didn't think there was a difference accept for a pc input. It actually has settings for game optimizing wich I don't actually use.

The glare is an issue for me. I have to turn off lights before I play. Shorter people have no problem. If I sit on a stool, no problem. It's at the perfect angle to glare for people my height.

About 8 hours a day for 5 days just to paint it. The whole project took a few months because I only have 1 day a week to work on it. Some day I hope to work in my craft room for a living.

The beginning of my last video showed the paint cans. I got a water based clear I applied with a brush. Spraying clear is better but it worked ok. One light coat then a really thick coat the next day. Had to lay it flat on the ground because it likes to run.

I made no plans. Just eyeballed everything and adjusted as I went. It can be shaped like anything. I think every one I build will be different. In the painted and fired up video, I talk more about the measurements.
