Welcome to the craziest late-to-the-party comment of all time. I discovered this channel only in the last year or so, and have been obsessed - watching every episode and working my way backwards. Then I got to this video, and was absolutely stunned. I still can't believe it. I worked on Mortal Kombat 11, and played on this very cabinet in the arcade in our studio. It's sitting on a wall next to a huge Scorpion statue flanked on the left by cabinets for MK1-4, and on the right by NFL Blitz, Paperboy, and Joust, opposite a big neon Goro sign. It's the perfect home for such an awesome cabinet. It's one of the centerpieces of the arcade. I had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE it was from here. What an insane coincidence. This is so cool. Huge fan of the channel, keep up the great work!!!

Really cool to see other people’s different ideas on custom arcade/mame setups. I like that yours is original and based off of the classic arcade games with the newer game on board. A few years ago I started with putting together a kiosk. Now it’s 1981 Donkey Kong bartop arcade cabinet I converted from an old doll house. Painted it the original blue, have a Donkey Kong marquee and decals. I watched this video along with others and came up with something completely different than what I planned. These projects are a lot of fun especially older people like me who experienced the entire history of cartridge consoles, popularity of arcades, and everything we have today.

You might have better luck these days depending on how much you charge. Not many options and there is more demand. Shipping is the problem. One company in Oklahoma sells cabinet kits, quality mediocre, customer service abyssmal, but they have reasonable prices and free shipping. Hard to beat that.

It took time and resources to put together a Donkey Kong bartop arcade. It was a blast and totally worth it. I thought about how expensive it must be to put one together with quality parts and the time it takes to build and how much it costs to ship. I see people making customs and selling them for hundreds of dollars. It definitely takes the right equipment and skill. Not something you do overnight without experience and knowledge. These types of videos are a great start and place to learn.

I like how they pause the B Rolls to explain every minute detail as fast and as clear as possible, so the viewer doesn't get bored and not get left out on all the minor problems of the build. And then continues to those sweet sweet B roll shots. Its almost a 30-minute video and I did not divert for a second, super enjoyable. Oh and very professional build, but still feels DIY since all of the instructions are clear and well thought of.

The only thing I would have done different (besides using darker colors for the artwork) is to use some plexiglass on the control panel. I usually use 3/4" wood for most of my cabs, but for the control panel, I'll use 1/2" and 1/4" piece of plexi . That way when you set up your T-Molding it will cover the seam between the wood and plexi to make a beautiful finish. Oh... that and I'd use a marquee retainer rather than building a frame for it. Gives that little bit of authenticity. But I love how you designed it with the first Mortal Kombat in mind considering this is the 11th game. Also, the genius behind a three-part cabinet for easy removal and shipping is awesome!

Glad you angled the buttons this time. Having them perfectly flat is just no fun. About the only thing I would have changed would have been to be able to install a class panel over the monitor and bezel. It's part of what gives an arcade screen that look, even more so if you have the CRT behind it. It needs to be removable so it can be cleaned, and you can print stuff on it as well (not so useful with a wide screen display, but it's an option).
