If very much like a tutorial or market place asset, might speed up my own development. Looks fantastic, going to download it now and have a play

Did you use Wheel Angular Velocity and Car Linear Velocity to detect drift?
@marcoghislanzoni5 жыл бұрын
Marcus Palma no, I am using a far simpler method. If the lateral speed is higher than the threshold speed at which the lateral force saturates, then it is drifting.

How did you manage to make Drift marks? I guess those are decals? And if not, please tell how did you achieve that
@marcoghislanzoni3 жыл бұрын
There are two ways to make skid marks: 1. decals, 2. dynamic splines. I like to use 1. because it is simpler to handle (fire and forget). Basically the decals are placed at the contact patch whenever the skid condition is detected. They are oriented along the tire forward direction and scaled to make sure there are no gaps due to speed. Optionally they can be made more or less transparent depending on the amount of skid. There are tons of other variations that can be added, including a dependency on the type of ground, but these are the basics of it.

Rachelyoubish did you try the demo? What do you think?
@rachelveer75745 жыл бұрын
@@marcoghislanzoni I did! It's pretty spot on in feeling arcade-y, it's actually fun driving and drifting around the lot.

@@rachelveer7574 Thanks! Appreciate your feedback. :-) Last question: do you prefer the follow camera or the in-car camera?
@rachelveer75745 жыл бұрын
@@marcoghislanzoni I prefer the camera to follow. :)

Nice man. Try reducing the friction slow down rate of the rear tires. I know the numbers are tight but maybe by reducing it by a hair youl be able to make it all the way around a turn. Or However you have that worded for your coding. And remove the slide effect from your front tires. Front tires shouldnt be leaving skid marks. Looks great! Keep at it!!
